So i have a weird question

Is it possible to breed 2 pets that have a visible trait with a hidden trait, and somehow get rid of the hidden trait?

Like ex

(GJ) Feathered Wings (Stripes)

Is it possible to breed it so the trait is just GG and like get rid of the j hidden trait through breeding

Yes, tho from experience you may nead to "downgrade" the trait to a carried in the next generation and work your way back to visible to get the wanted result quicker. ^-^

Yes. If you breed that pet with another that has GG Feathered Wings (Stripes) then you will have a 50% chance of the offspring having GG Feathered Wings (Stripes).

The way genetics works here is like a basic punnet square:

Parent A has GJ Feathered Wings (Stripes)
Parent B has AG Butterfly Wings

Parent A gives 1 trait point: G or J
Parent B gives 1 trait point: A or G

Offspring result possibilities:
AG
GG
AJ
GJ

In this example, because parent A has G visible and J hidden, and parent B has A visible and G hidden, there is a 25% chance of getting an offspring with GG Feathered Wings (Stripes)

Sylesti Genetics is basic punnett square genetics (that being, each parent has a 50/50 chance to pass down either one of the two 'alleles'/letters from each trait slot) so if you bred

GJ with GJ
the offspring would be a 25/50/25% chance split of
GG, GJ, JJ

GJ with GG
would be a 50/50% chance of
GG or GJ
