After hours of attempting to do this on my own, I have relented to asking for help on the forums xD

I've been attempting to create some mission pets. On the surface, it sounds simple. Look at what a pet's best stats are and align them to the element that suits those stats best. But I read somewhere that it's best to figure out what a pet's stat "naked" are? As defined here, that would be a pet's stat "without any gear, level ups or proficiencies assigned". Also, "Remember that sylestis gain 200 health and one point in the other stats with every level so you need to take that into account when looking at stats."

I attempted to put that knowledge into practice with this Qitari. At level 6, these are her stats:

Health: 169 (101 + 0)
Mana: 80 (80 + 0)

Physical Damage: 11
Magical Damage: 10

Strength: 21 (15 + 0)
Intelligence: 20 (14 + 0)
Dexterity: 19 (13 + 0)
Agility: 20 (14 + 0)

Physical Mitigation: 7.30%
Magical Mitigation: 7.21%
Critical Hit Chance: 5.14%
Accuracy Bonus: 3.88%
Avoidance Chance: 4.08%
Quickness Rating: 3.90

Taking 6 away from her current strength, intelligence, dexterity, and agility, it seems her stats at level 0 would have been:

Strength: 15
Intelligence: 14
Dexterity: 13
Agility: 14

Taking 200 x 6 (1200) away from her current health would put her level 0 health in the negatives, though. Am I overthinking things and her level 0 health would be what's in the parentheses (101)? Is this Qitari even useful for missions? xD

If you look at your pets stats I believe that the stuff in the () are the 'naked' stats. Those are their level 0/1 (don't remember if pets start at level 0 or 1 right now).

You notice that you said that their stats would be 15,14,13,14 and if you look at those stats in the (), that is what it says.

So the health would be 101 at base.

As for the rest, for my mission pets, I never even bothered with that, I just took the pets I had with the highest stat for the missions (so highest INT pet, highest STR pet etc..) and then just put equipment on them.

I believe that after a certain point, higher stats don't really matter.

Also, if you need some higher level/stat pets, let me know, I might have some I could toss your way.

So I really was just thinking too hard xD Thank you very much! (My starter pet started at level 0, so I think that's the lowest level a pet can be.)

As for your offer, I managed to find some pets with relatively high levels and stats compared to my current level, so I should be able to make due with them for now. Thank you for offering, though!

Okay, and you are welcome. Just remember that for mission, you don't aren't bound by your current level. You could use a level 70 (current max level) for a mission pet.

Good luck then.

The stuff in the brackets is the base stats (the stats that a pet has at 'birth') yes
(I don't think I have ever seen them called 'naked' stats before though, does the mission guide actually call them that? (I might rec the guide to Every Newbie Ever but I haven't really read it since I knew how to do missions by the time I first saw it))

For the most part, with wild-caught regular pets, base stats are all pretty much the same (with the exception of luffox's speed, which is ludicrously high), and so don't make much difference. Once you put the Proficiencies and Equips on the pet, they're pretty much irrelevant (the only time in the game where the equips don't matter is with the Forgotten Tomb's Seals, and even then it still takes Profs into account)
(and, as mentioned, you can send pets of any level on any mission, though sending low level pets on a high level mission would be pretty silly. High level pets can smash them out of the park though, so they're pretty useful for missions)

As to HP, I actually asked Krin the other day about this! HP follows an equation for how much it gains as Level Bonus, where all the others are just +(whatever the pet's level is)! ( Though I don't know what the equation actually is, I can tell you that it involves how much base HP the pet has, so pets that have higher base HP get a better level bonus to HP (so there's a significant difference in HP level bonus between, say, a lv70 pet with 100 base HP (get a +1,107 hp level bonus) and a lv70 with 2000 (a +3020 HP level bonus.)

(if you are on a computer and hover over the active stat of a pet- eg, the qit's active HP stat is 21, int 20 etc.- it will actually show you a breakdown of what is going into making that stat.)
