dunno if this has been mentioned before but I can't find any thread on it so

The idea is basically just a philter that swaps a hidden trait to visible. How many times have you started breeding projects, and gotten this close to completion, just to have to wait to breed again because one of the genes was hidden? But now, you can simply use a philter and boom, done!

it'd work similarly to a genetic mutator, since if it could be used unlimited times that would be terrifying. Instead, you can only use it once, so you better be sure this is what you want! Perhaps similar to a philter of gender swapping too, so you could only use it on pets that haven't bred yet? Or just one time use. Either or.

I'm not a huge breeder, but there have been many times I wanted to shriek because that one trait just wouldn't be visible and I'd have to wait for the cooldown to be over and then pray to RNG that it'd work this time. this would probably be a diamond shop item, or at least fairly expensive if it was sold somewhere else because, again, fairly powerful.

tldr; 1 time use philter swaps hidden trait to visible.

I love this idea! (Not that I'd actually be able to buy it ;-;) I can't even count how many times in my Lantern Glow Rikki project that I've gotten so close to finishing an outcome before noticing that it is missing the last gosh darn trait! XD

I'm slightly confused by the wording on your post, but I'm assuming you meant carried instead of hidden. (Hidden traits are when there are two traits in a single slot, but the dominant one is visible. Carried cannot be seen at all. This Drae has hidden Serpent's Mark in her G1, and carried Flaming Tail.)

Regarding your suggestion: I can't say I'd support this. Even as a one-time use consumable, it would likely be game-breaking. 3v1c exclusive themed are possible from festivals, and this sort of item would probably result in a surge of 4-vis themed. As for bred pets - I know it can be frustrating to have that one trait left, but it only takes another three (or, for Fabled, seven) days to try again. If the parents' traits are close, you'll get your 6v eventually; if it wasn't close at all that 5v1c will be incredibly helpful for breeding.

I dug up a thread with a somewhat similar suggestion, which includes a reply from Krin. Essentially, he says philters are limited in order to not destroy content (breeding) from the site.

What I would support is a philter that I initially thought you were suggesting - a "remove hidden" philter, like a nullification that only removes the hidden trait.

I think the suggestion is to make submissive traits covered by a more dominant visible the visible not the current one. I generally just keep breeding two pets with the carries till I get the desired offspring xD I guess that's too hard?
