So I noticed a few times that when I would hatch a pet, it would go from 72 hours of age (which should be 73 when hatched) to as high up as 83/648. (Sometimes lower, like 78/648, but most often I've seen the 83)

When it comes to stats breeding that's 10 hours worth of precious time lost - even if you take away whatever the calculation for nurtures adding to age. Sometimes - many times - a pet will literally be 1 point from max when it reaches adolescence and stats can no longer be boosted.

Those 10 hours could have been the difference between "well, I'll keep you long enough to breed an actual maxed pet to take your place -.- " and actually being able to keep the pet indefinitely.

And yes, I can confirm that their stats ARE NOT being increased. The puffs I used were all pre-mana maxed: 2000 health, 100 str/intel/dex/agil, and 100 mana.

Image can be clicked for a larger version.

Details shown are of pet as an egg (left), pet just before hatching at 11:45 (middle), pet right after hatching at 11:46 (right.) There is no change in the number of nurtures or profile views the pet has received, and despite jumping up to 83/648 in maturity, the mana (the only stat subject to being raised) is still 100.

Originally I thought it had something to do with nurture boosting, so I boosted 1 puff, left the 2nd puff alone, and I was going to boost the 3rd puff after hatching to see if that had something to do with it.

For the 1st puff who hatched long before the first thanks to the extra nurtures, I was able to hatch it on the hour it was ready to hatch; it stayed at 73.

This morning, for the 2nd and 3rd puffs, both ended up with 83/648. The key difference is that I wasn't here in the middle of the night to hatch them as soon as they were ready; they had been sitting in the hatchery ready to hatch for an unknown span of time.

I'm going to assume this is some sort of bug, and that stats breeders aren't intentionally being docked up to 10 hours of growth for not being here to hatch eggs the moment they're ready since there's literally no way to plan ahead for when an egg will hatch. With enough nurtures an egg can be like, "I was bred in the afternoon and should hatch in 3 days, but thanks to hundreds of nurtures, I'm going to hatch at midnight a full day early while the player is sleeping :D "

(As for why I say "stats breeders" specifically, I'm pretty sure we spend more on nurture boosting than most since we're in it for the stats points, and nurture boosts disrupt a pets hatching time more than non-boosted pets since they can receive enough nurtures to literally hatch an egg that's 1 day old rather than just knocking the schedule off by a few hours with ~12 boops or so.)

The maturity jump is from it adding the pending maturity from it being in the "Ready to Hatch" state.

Once a pet hits 72, it goes into limbo and starts a second counter that counts to 24 (24 hours). If it hits 24, it will automatically Hatch on its own.

If the player Hatches it, it will add whatever that second counter was to the 72 (or maybe it's 73, I'd have to check that) number.

I do understand the point you are making though and it is a valid concern raised. I'll think about it a little bit before deciding on whether or not to change it to where it'd just default to 73 regardless of how long it was in the 'Ready to Hatch' state.

As for the stat issue, I'm not sure why nothing changed with that. Which 'Hatch' option did you select? I'll have to test this myself to see what's going on and fix anything not working correctly.

I must admit I have never noticed this happen in the past, lol. Although that's probably because I try to keep things on a solid rotation so I can be on when they're ready just to get things done, but with nurture boosting they're usually way out of my breeding cycle and the whole point is the extra stats, so seeing the jump to 83 was like " O__O Waaaah? My stat points!! ;__; "

As for why there was no change in the puffs' mana when I hatched them, as far as I'm aware mana wasn't updated with a basic hatch-to-boost option? I know it's "help hatch" for health, "let hatch" for one of str/dex/intl/agil to be boosted, but mana used to be 100% unboostable - no 10 mana from prismas, no +20 mana philters, no mana boost from nurtures, and no boost from how you hatch it.

If it's supposed to be going up with the update to mana being raisable, I don't think it's working? I tend to watch the mana closely since my older maxed projects were left with 100/120, and mana's the only stat I've been working on with them (like the Aeri mentioned above) so I think.... there's a good chance I would have noticed if a "help" or "let hatch" would have boosted the mana? (Usually for one ~195+ I'll just cross my fingers that it gets the boops for the last 5 points, so they're hatched without a philter.)

Ah. Yea, the boost to Mana, at this time, is only attached to nurturing itself. It wasn't retroactively added to the Hatching process outside of the philter.

Looking at your pet now:

It is gaining Mana from nurtures. It's up to 102 now.
