Different tribes of Sylestis roam the lands, hidden from humans. They are the Elemental Sylestis. There is a different tribe for each element. What element a Sylesti is depends on what colour it is.

Long ago, the tribes wanted to befriend each other, so they all went to meet at an abandoned mineshaft. All except one Sylesti. One Sylesti from each tribe had to stay behind to guard their land. All the other tribe members ventured into the mine for a trust building exercise. There they discovered an orb that glowed black light. It was the legendary Darma Orb. They all touched it, as a group, to bond. Then the orb released dark magic that consumed them and turned them evil. They formed the Dark Tribe. The tribe that was set on destroying every living creature.

Each Sylesti that had been left soon got attacked by the Dark Tribe, and blamed their transformation on the other tribes, causing a war that is still on going...

Aktorca looked around the former homes of his tribemates. Since they were Dark, he was the leader. Aktorca set alight a house, then made water put it out. being a multi element was normally cool, but now, alone in the darkness, it wasn't. It was the worst thing in the world. He was connected to the multi, fire and water tribes, so seeing them all turn Dark was painful. He wanted to be just one element and have only one tribe to worry about...

But that was NEVER going to happen...

Co-Fla wondered around the poison tribe. Research wasn't going well...if only they could find a cure to help thoughs poor sylesties...she sighed but quickly put on a smile as she passed some hatchlings. Her smile went as soon as she was alone again. " Why... " she muttered. " Why did they change? And why did they have to be friends? "

Aqua climed a small, rocky hill and looked around. She wanted to injoy herself, even though this was a time of terror. She put one foot on the smooth, slide like side of the hill and looked down. Time to do a super dangerous, have to dodge rocks, sliding time on a rocky slide! She breathed in and held her breath, she then breathed out and jumped onto the slide. Instantly she was dragged down and already having to dodge the sharp rocks that pointed out of the smooth surface.

Aktorca went to his brother's house to see him, then realising that his brother was in the dark tribe. He had heard that the poison tribe leader knew his brother, so Aktorca set off to the poison tribe lands to talk to her.

" I hope she doesn't attack me. everyone's so defensive now. they all think its the other tribe, but its not. i know that. i need the poison leader's help. i just hope she doesn't attack..." said Aktorca.

Then he heard a low growl and turned to see Spiratus staring at him.

"Give it a rest, Spirit."

The ryori nodded, sensing Aktorca's worry.

Po-Fla streached herself then turned. She barked out a sylesties name and it came running. " Fetch research report...NOW! " she shouted. The sylestie nodded and ran off. Looking for the research report.
A few hatchlings aprouched Po-Fla and a baby nixi said. " Equse mwe...but my daddy is in the research team...whe where wondering how whe can be in it, once whe are older! " Po-Fla smiled at the hatchlings.
" Well first you need to know quite a lot, not the usual amount, the special amount of a brain box, like your daddy " she said, rubbing the top of the nixi's head. " Then you show me some of the amazing things you learnt! And then I set a special task for you and if you complete it well, you get the chance to go on the research team!..."
