So, I was looking through guides for no reason in particular, when I noticed that at the end of stage 1, you're supposed to have some sort of boss battle. However, I never had one, I just defeated the last captain and then built the barracks.
Does anyone know what happened here???

If you're talking about the LG, and mean the LG Walkthrough thread's post on stage 1 of the LG, it's... not saying you're 'meant' to have a boss battle, that's just a list of enemies in the Forest section.
Bosses can potentially spawn after any given battle against their respective elites, but it's RNG, not part of stage 1.
Stage 1 is just 'collect the supplies needed to build the barracks', and you don't need to fight the bosses for those drops, since elites drop them and chests can have them.
The only time you NEED to fight a boss is stage 5 (Grove Behemoth).
