Ian was still sleeping, not too worried about his first day of senior year. After all, seniors got to do whatever they wanted, right?

Shawn had been up since three in the morning pacing, trying to figure out what the plan was for today, planning every conversation, every class, everything.

Brooklyn was already up. She was thinking.
"Okay about 10 more minutes... then the bus will be here!"
She was nervous about her first day, but she was happy. She waited by the front door inside her house.

Hazel walked outside once she heard the bus down her road. She wondered if this year will be unbearable.

Shawn didn't ride the bus, he took his car. He had been saving up since middle school. It was a pretty beat up one, too, but that was okay because he didn't care how it looked at long as it worked

The bus pulled up to Hazel's house. She got on the bus then sat down at the back. She was one of the first ones to get picked up.

Brooklyn walked outside her front door then sat on the steps.
"5 more mins..."
She sat there. It seemed like time was passing like sloth.

Ian woke up and got dressed, pulling on a hoodie and some ripped jeans, racing to the bus stop, totally forgetting that the bus was coming today

Brooklyn got up. She could hear the bus, but it was far away...
She started to walk up to the road.

Hazel leaned back and played a game on her phone. She was on the last level of Candy Crush, she hasn't cleared it after a week of playing the same level...

Shawn was behind the bus, not minding driving slowly.

Ian waited at his stop for the bus, bored out of him mind

The bus stopped. Brooklyn got on then saw Hazel in the back. She moved to the back, hearing 'new kid' from a seat as she passed them. She touched Hazels shoulder to get her attention.
"Hey, Hazel."
"Huh? Hi Brook! You look... tired?" Hazel moved towards the window, so Brooklyn could sit down.
"It's a Monday Hazel..."
"Yeah... But it's the first day for you! Aren't you excited?"
She didn't know how to answer that. She just smiled in agreement then she sat back in her seat, looking up at the roof of the bus.

Eventually, the bus got to Ian's stop and he climbed on, silent for once in his life

The bus picked up a few more kids then stopped in front of the school.
