I wish I were much better at coming up with names. It took me a long time to come up with that one and it isn't even accurate to what I have in mind.

So to start off, this would NOT be a true adoption center where players can dump pets to be adopted.

A bit of back story. I started thinking about the Blazing Fireworks Ferrikkis and how the Pyromaniacs weren't nice to me at all with regards to the BF theme. I was grateful that the BF theme will hopefully be returning this year, so I can try to obtain some of the themes I wanted.

Then I started thinking, what if they didn't return? My dreams would be crushed as I would potentially never be able to obtain some of the BF (first gen) pets I want.

Then this idea came to me, I don't know how good it is, or how well it would work, but please bear with me.

One of the biggest regrets I have is that I found sylestia too late. There are so many pretty themes that I would love to have, and while I can and have bought many of the themes, finding them with specific traits, or non-bred, etc.. can be difficult. I could buy purebred ones, but for some reason Sylestia is different for me than all other sites I have played. ON sites like Flight Rising and Gryffs, for example, I don't care whether the pet I am trying to obtain is first gen or millionth gen. If it has the right colors and is the right price, I buy it. On Sylestia I find myself wanting only First gens, unless the purebred is 'special' in some way (such as having all of a restricted theme or being six vis or max stat).

This means that there are so many themes I will never obtain, and in some cases for the themes I was here for, I never got the chance to obtain the pets I wanted, either with the traits I wanted or the number of vis etc..

So, my idea is this: during certain events, not necessarily fests, a new NPC comes to 'town' and offers congratulations for the players' dedication to preserving the wild species of Sylestia and releasing so many pets (as this was originally about the patriotic event, it would make more sense to have it in conjunction with a releasing event). The population of certain themes are doing so well, some of the eggs have had to be removed in order to prevent overpopulation of that theme.

This NPC will offer, for a price (and not a cheap one either) certain themed pets for sale. (these will also all be eggs, so it is still RNG how many vis you get and what the traits are)

I think it could be done in one of three ways.

1. There are only so many eggs available. Like the BF wheel, only X amount of each theme is available to be bought, I personally don't like this idea, because unlike the Black Friday Wheel, this isn't dependent on RNG as to what each player gets. Theoretically one player could buy up all of a certain pet and prevent any other player from obtaining it.

2. You can only buy one pet of each theme per day. I very much prefer this one. Players could theoretically buy one of each pet, but that is all, they can't buy any more (except through multiaccounting) that day. There wouldn't be 'X pets available', instead, if Krin wants to limit the number of pets coming into the economy of a certain theme, they can be only offered for a certain number of days. A very rare pet might only be offered for 1 day only, while ones that Krin feels might be a bit more popular (and thus a better treasure sink) but doesn't need to be kept 'rare' to preserve value could be offered every day

3. Since the beginning of my statement was about pets being released, it could be tied to a releasing mechanic, where you could earn points for X pets released (could be 1 for 1, could be 1 for 100) and each pet would have a different value in points. If this were the route taken, I don't think that it should be limited by X pets available or a 'One pet a day' adoption limit. Here, the limit could be simply the number of pets released. A very rare pet might need 10K pets released while the most common might only need 100 pets each released.

Now, what themes are available? that would be up to Krin. I don't think it should coincide with the Black Friday themes (ie the ones that are extremely rare) but perhaps some older fest themes and themes like that. Ones that aren't 'rare' but also aren't common, and as I said, often will have the problem of having only a few that are unbred for sale. Perhaps some of the restricted themes and/or themes from recent fests could make a reappearance as 'filler' for players who maybe just didn't manage to find the ones they wanted or make enough of the ones they wanted.

When would it be available? That is a bit trickier. I had the thought about the patriotic event Theme, and so it could go there, which would limit the number of pets brought into the game from it. However, it could also go during a festival, as one of my personal dreams would be to have each fest 'unique' from each other, in that they at least have a mechanic that is different as well as a 'gimmick'. Spring fest has the flower garden and flower fairies, which is sort of too bad, because I feel that spring fest would be perfect for this type of mechanic. I don't think it should go near Black Friday or Fall or Winter fest, because that time is already draining on finances and sanity. So, my preferences would be the patriotic event, which has the releasing thing already, or Summer fest. However, not having experienced all the events, it might be able to compliment another one just as well.

The pricing would of course also be left up to Krin. The prices for the various pets could be variable, like the scale shop, except that what you paid would have no bearing on visibility. IE, you could pay 50K for a pet of a certain theme and get 3 vis or you could pay 100K for a pet of the same theme and get a 1 vis (price swings wouldn't have to be that wild, and there might not even be price swings depending on how things are handled)

Personally I think it would be a fun new mechanic and a nice way to potentially bring back themes that aren't 'rare' and in danger of going 'extinct' but still potentially hard to find unbred pets for sale. If it were tied to releasing, I know I would be doing my best to release everything in site to obtain enough points to get some pets.
