you put the images in the contests. its not a 100% chance that it will be chosen.

you wait until a themed design contest is going (the Winter theme design ended on nov. 20, so the next one will likely be spring, and open towards the end of winter fest)
and then you cross your fingers and toes and hope, mostly because as Encryption said, it is definitely not a 100% that you'll succeed and have yours picked.
we have a guide to themed pet design contest here if you want to look at it, and the Sylestia Times often has a segment from people who have previously gotten their design/s picked on their process if you want to hunt those down
