I try not to comment about prices unless people ask for it, but so feel I should say something really quick just because youre new to try to help you out.

The whips were an extremely common item this past fest. It is currently worth less than 1k because they are so common and there are so few people buying them. If you want to sell your whip for a higher price you may be able to sell it for 5k (if youre lucky) in a few months. I recommend selling it before next summer fest, at least, because the price will go back down when the item is rereleased.

Its important to note that the current prices of items on the broker are not always what the item SHOULD be priced at. Sometimes items will get bought out from the broker leaving only the super high priced items that no sane person would ever buy. That is likely the situation you saw.
