When I search the pets one option I can look at is the breed of the pet. The only pet breed however is Sylesti.

When different breed become available will they be a different set of creatures to raise? Will they be variants of the current species with different male and female posses? Will they just be a way to explain away multiple traits for the same gene or mutation?

A read a post earlier about incomplete dominance of traits and I thought multiple breeds might explain this away as a hybrid for a species group with multiple displayed traits that occupy the same spot. I still wish my previous questions can be answered however.

Multiple breeds is something we planned on in a very early stage of Sylestia. At this point, we are unsure of whether or not we will actually have multiple breeds and if we do, we're not sure how it would exactly work.

But in order to keep the door easily open for adding breeds in the future if we decide to do that, we just kept that 'feature' in the game.
