I guess I'll set this up!

Nick was already at the school, loitering by the lockers, waiting for Harper to get there.

Ash was walking to his new school, a sword resting comfortably on his hip. He never went anywhere without it.

Harper was one of the clumsiest people you'd ever meet. Earlier that morning, she'd fallen out of bed, her blonde hair a total mess. When she was climbing down the stairs, she had nearly tripped. Driving on the way to school had been another challenge- and she had thought she was safe until her bright red car scraped against the curb.

Pulling into an empty parking spot, she sighed. Great, another day at school. As she stepped out of the car and heading down to the school entrance, she spotted something strange. "Does that kid... have a sword?" Her eyes widened slightly at the odd sight. "Um, weird." She kept her voice hushed so he wouldn't hear her, and lost sight of the boy as soon as she entered the school building.

There, she spotted her best friend leaning against the locker. "Nick!" She was loud, sure, but nobody really seemed to care. She ran down the hallway to him and gave him a quick hug. "Good morning! Y'know what I saw? There's some kid with a sword outside. Yeah. A sword!" She sounded excited at the smallest thing, but hey, that was Harper.

Nick raised his eyebrows. "A kid with a sword? Is he new or something? Doesn't he know that weapons aren't allowed in school? Idiot," he muttered shaking his head. "He's gonna have that thing confiscated before he can say 'hey, that's mine'. I can't wait until someone does confiscate it from him," he said, shaking his head. Little did anyone else know, Nick had a couple of daggers in his shoes.

Ash ignores everyone. He looks much older than he actually is, his stormy gray eyes mesmerizing. Most people spot the sword and make sure to keep their distance. Sure, a sword might be a little out of date, but he didn't care. His tousled black hair fell into his face as he entered the school, and he absently brushed it out of the way.

Harper shrugged, though her gaze was drawn to the same boy as he entered the school. She nudged Nick, trying not to appear obvious as she tilted her head towards Ash. "That's the kid. Definitely new." The blonde watched for a while as the boy walked. "He looks like one of those mysterious types, you know? Edgy," she joked, crossing her arms.

Nick face-palmed as he spotted the boy. "Oh crap. Well, I'm probably going to be dead sometime in the near future. Here's a warning beforehand: if you see me and him fighting, stay out of it. I don't want you getting hurt. Do you understand?" he asked her

Ash proceeded to glare down anyone thy stared too long. As he walked past, he was even more handsome up close...high cheekbones, dark tousled hair thy refused to stay out of his face. And somehow, he managed to smell sharply of frost and winter even though it was warm outside

"He smells good," Harper whispered before she could even control herself, but she turned to face her friend because of his odd comment. "You? And the new kid? Fighting? Nick, do you know him, or do you just fight anyone who walks through the halls?" The second part was more teasing, but she gave Nick a strange look.

Nick rolled his eyes at her comment. It tool him a while neorealism he responded to her question, though. When he finally did, he said, "Yeah, we know each other. And I wouldn't mind fighting people that walked through the halls." Nick's eyes trailed Ash, giving him the death glare. If he stared any harder, it would burn holes into Ash's back.

Ash made his way around the school easily with a grace that most humans just couldn't match

"Really?" Harper's bright eyes widened. "How? He another one of your enemies?" She linked her arm through his as she asked the question, so they could both head to first class. "That's strange, you've never mentioned anyone like him before."

"I never mentioned him because I thought that I would never have to see him again, but here he is." He shook his head a little as if to clear it. "Now let's get to class and hope that he doesn't have the same schedule as us."

Well, he cursed it. Ash has the same schedule as they did
