What does it mean when a pet is tagged with a purple theme tag vs a blue one? I've seen even two pets of the same theme tagged in different colours.

A purple name tagged themed is a generation one theme and a blue name tagged theme is used for offspring. Generation one tag will also have a gold star representing them in the lineage charts while offspring will have a blue star.
