what is Aeridini's trait less tail based off of? (i know its a flower but what kind?)

If I were to take a guess, I would say it looks a like a cross between a japanese camellia....
...A succulent (Which really isn't a flower)...
...And an amaranth.
Then again, I'm not much of a plant expert, so that might not be it.
