Duskclaw was stretching by his den. He had just sent out a morning patrol, and was hopeful they would turn up with no news. No news was good news in his eyes. The golden tabby headed to the fresh-kill pile and took a small thrush for his own.
Karma was hunting near -- not on -- the border. Recent encounters with twolegs had driven the prey to BrokenClan's side of the border. He wasn't very happy about it. The risk of getting caught was too high, but he needed to eat somehow.

Smallkit, a kit who sleeps next to Birdkit jolted awake
He kicked Birdkit playfully. She snarled a kit snarl and kicked him off. She rolled over and went to sleep again.

Fernkit sat up, yawning. She padded out of her den and into the clearing. She grabbed a mouse off the freshkill pile and sat down to eat it.
