There had been a recent outbreak in some unknown disease, a plague that spread throughout the nation. However, the means it spread was not the usual method of infection. The people infected would attack others, and it spread like rabies- biting proved fatal, and then the infected, after they died, would come back to life to infect others.
It's been a week since the apocalypse started, and about 40% of the human population has been wiped out already.
This takes place in an undisclosed, nonexistent country (somewhat based off America) with its own geography and world to explore
