I can't seem to beat Lord Talon and his pets, despite all of them being lower level than my pets! My party pets are the following, from lead to third:

Female Water Qitari, level 35. 2 Proficiency Points in strength.
Ragged Relic of the Disciple - Epic
Ragged Armor of the Disciple - Legendary
Tattered Bracelet of the Ravager - Rare
Faded Bracelet of the Myrmidon - Rare

Male Light Qitari, level 34. 2 PP in intelligence.
Faded Relic of the Disciple - Epic
Ragged Armor of the Disciple - Rare
Faded Bracelet of the Disciple - Rare
Ragged Bracelet of the Evoker - Epic

Male Shadow Qitari, level 34. 1 PP in health, 1 in intelligence.
Faded Relic of the Illusionist - Rare
Faded Armor of the Myrmidon - Rare
Faded Bracelet of the Illusionist - Uncommon
Bolt's Bracelet - Rare

Yeah, I like horses. :p

Please help, what can I do? I focus on Lord Talon first, but all of my pets together can't even get him down to 75% health before he and his pets whoop our butts! Lol

You have to healer type pets in your party. May I suggest adding a Offense pet. Then you will have a healer pet, defense pet, and an offense pet. You might want to change your party's order as well. Shadow or Earthworks best in the first slot since it can block more damage than the others. Fire or Wind in the middle slot. And Light or Water in the last slot so they get attacked the least. If your healer dies, it's pretty much a game over since you won't have many other chances to heal your pets.

You need to focus on his pets first. He is a lot easier when his minions are down. As for your tank, I would recommend putting it's proficiencys in health.

-As for defeating Lord talon, I recommend finishing umbra forest first to give your pets some experience.-

Thank you!!! I will do. I gave up and returned to Umbra Forest, and switched my pets' order. xD
I followed a tutorial that recommended this mix of pets and proficiencies, it was wrong then? :S

I think a shadow, water, light team could work. I've never personally tried it, but it would likely be extremly defensive. (Due to water's protective abilities and light's bonus healing on top of that)

If you want to keep that combo: I would reccomend placing them in this order: Shadow then water then light. Shadow would be the tank having higher health than the rest of the team, water using its ice barrier ability on the tank while healing the team with the light (The light should have high intellegence)

If you want to change it: Most people though, myself included, agree that shadow, light, wind is one of the best teams being a balance between defensive and offensive. (Shadow is the tank, light has high intelligence, and wind doing a lot of damage with 1 health for protection)

Thank you! I switched my Shadow to main and water to second, light is last. Good results so far in Umbra Forest, haven't gone back to the Dungeon though. Trying to get some extra exp first! Lol some of the enemies in Umbra are so weak that defeating them only gives my pets 1 exp point each, but oh well. Some still give nice bonuses.

I don't think I've ever seen a guide reccomend a team of water/light/shadow, huh.

Most teams are built Tank/Healer/Attacker (Healer and Attacker slots can be switched up, it's a matter of preference) (or Tank/Support/Attacker. You can also get some teams that are (Tank/Healer)/Attacker/Attacker)

Water is primarily a Tank element (but can be used as a Support), Light is Pure Healer, and Shadow is also Primarily a Tank (but is the most flexible element)

Earth is Pure Tank, Fire and Air are Pure Attacker

Haven't used a Water pet enough since the overhaul to say on the Profs (though they're apparently better with prof focus in HP (if Tank) or Str (for any)?)
If you use it as Tank, you need Assassin gear (Str/Agi) so give as much Agi as possible.
Disciple gear is okay but more of a placeholder, I have no clue how useful Ravager gear is on a Water pet, Myrmidon is generally used for Air pets, as they use Dex to inflict debuffs. Not sure how much use a Water pet gets out of Dex but I guess a Support might make use of it?

Light pet should preferably have Evoker or Illusionist gear, depending on how you want to stack their Dex and Agi.
All prof in Int is all good though.

Shadow should be okay with 1HP/1Int
If it's the tank, Illusionist is all good.
If you want it to be an Attacker, You'll want Evoker.
Shouldn't have a Myrmidon, though- as a Str/Dex equip it's best for Air pets, as mentioned.

Air pets should be Str/Dex focused and should have Myrmidon gear, Fire pets Int/Dex, and want Evoker. Air makes more solid use of Dex, with 100% debuff infliction on a crit, while Fire is 50% chance of debuff infliction on a crit.

Wow, it's complicated! I've been choosing Equipment based mainly on damage + its effect on my pets' highest stat. Is that the wrong way then?

I'd just like to add that although a shadow/water/light team can be slow, I think it works quite well (I had no trouble with it from Umbra Forest all the way to the Lost Grove).

In this setup, I would very much recommend Ravager (pure Strength) gear for the water pet, as it gives significantly more strength than Myrmidon or Assassin (and the water pet's support moves all depend on the pet's strength). If you can't find Ravager gear, I'd suggest Myrmidon or Assassin gear.

For the light pet, I would recommend Arcanist (pure Intelligence) if you can find it easily, or Evoker (Int/Dex) otherwise.

Because this party setup is so defensive, I think it's helpful to try to maximize the attack power of the non-shadow pets (not only to increase damage, but also because the power both of their support abilities depend on strength/intelligence).
