Open! Note that I've never done this before, and I haven't written anything in a year.

You awoke to the most intense grey eyes you'd ever seen much too close to your face.
The androgynous-looking person was looking at you with very visible concern, and flinched back slightly when they noticed you were awake.
They were holding a lantern, and from its light you could see you were in a cave. A very small one with a few clumps of sad-looking grass growing here and there.
"Ah...I wasn't sure you were still alive..." they muttered softly. Their voice had a slight accent you felt was familiar but couldn't quite place.
Their voice didn't exactly help with placing their gender either.
"...huh?" you asked, confused.
"Well, not many survive the fall," they replied, gesturing upwards.
You looked up.
Oh.
Far off in the distance, you could see a tiny pinprick of light. Was that where you'd fallen from...? You were slightly sore, but it didn't seem anything had broken. How in the world did you survive that fall?
More importantly, how could you leave this place?
They seemed to already know your question before you even voice it.
"Um...just go over there and keep going straight. It'll eventually lead out of here. I've never left this cave before so that's all I can help with..."
Before you could ask anymore questions, they've already darted away, heading in the direction they pointed out earlier.
Well then.
With nothing else to do, you followed them, stumbling slightly on a rock or something.
The passageway you enter does not look natural. The walls are too smooth to be anything but manmade, and lanterns line the wall providing just enough light to see.
You've already lost sight of the person, but you follow their directions and just keep going straight though all the side tunnels definitely caught your interest.
Finally after who knows how long you caught up to them. They were standing by a small door.
"Well, this leads outside."
They smiled at you, but they seemed bothered by something.
"Look..." they said after what looked like some internal debating. "Here..." they pulled out a knife from who knows where and handed it to you.
You held it gingerly, not sure why they'd given it to you.
"You'll probably need it, and I have a lot of spares so it's fine. I...wish you luck."
They unlocked the door, and practically shoved you out.
You blink in the bright morning sun, eyes still adjusting after an hour or so of being in a dimly lit cave.
You're in a forest, and the rocky wall behind you shows no evidence of a door.
It seems to be about afternoon.
There's the sound of a stream somewhere close by, but partially obscured by several bushes and trees you can also see a stone path. It seems worn by time and unused, but paths always lead somewhere, right?
What do you do?

Rules
1) It is possible to die, as there are lots of dangers. If you die, you can pay a small fee to get revived or start a new adventure.

Stats: (You can distribute 12 stat points on whatever you like. You have a base of 100 HP and MP, as well as 2 points in everything.)

Game Mechanics
Element: Dark, Light, Wind, Water and Earth.
Dark is strong against Light, and vice versa.
Fire is strong against Wind, Wind is strong against Earth, Earth is strong against Water, and Water is strong against Fire.
You get increased damage and crit chance against enemies you have an elemental boost against.
Stats:
STR - Raises physical damage, and slightly raises your resistance to physical damage.
DEX - Raises your attack speed and dodge rate, as well as your chance to hit your enemy.
INT - Raises magical damage, and slightly raises your resistance to magic damage.
END - Raises your HP, MP, and resistance to damage.
CHA - Purely story stat. Charisma helps you talk your way out of sticky situations and increases the chance of merchants selling you their wares for cheaper prices.
LUCK - Raises crit chance and slightly boosts your loot from successful battles.

HP - Raised by raising endurance. Keeps you alive.
MP - Raised by raising endurance. Helps you cast more spells and abilities.
