How would I come by one or find out my Sylesti's Traits
Also, If I had one, could I scan someone else's pet, to see what they have?

You can get a scanner in the diamond shop. It's on sale right now, but the sale ends very soon so if you want one I would recommend buying one fast.
Also, yes you can scan other peoples pets, however they have to be in your possession to do so. So if they trade the pet to you you can scan it and then send it back to them.
