Does the Diamond or other Staves have to line up in the first two rows in order to get the gold? I have gotten a diamond a couple times in the second or third row and recieved no gold as well as two of the various staves of the same kind, sometimes next to each other, other times in the first and third row. I'm trying to be sure I unstand how this part of the game goes... if there's a link to describing this please let me know.

Yes, they have to be in order to count.
