Hello, world.

I'm aradinfinity, and I tend to enjoy monster collection games, so that's what I'm going to play this as, effectively; I'm planning on working towards one or two of each species as made up as I'm interested in going to. I'm also intrigued by these forums- it's been a while since I've been active on some, I might as well give it a try, right?

So, to kick off discussion beyond welcomes- what species of Sylesti do you think is the most underappreciated on here?

Zolnixis and Nyvenes are the best, no competition. As for most underappreciated... Nytekries and Faelora?

This is purely anecdotal, but I've seen plenty of both Nytekries and Faelora hatchlings, though admittedly fewer of that second one. That being said, I'd have to agree about Zolnixis- they're awful cute, and that's the species I chose for my starter.

I haven't seen hardly any Lighira or Kelpari hatchlings, though- maybe that's because the former is a fabled species?

Hmm, fableds to tend to be rarer. Nephs, Luffs, lunes, and Bulbs tend to be my least favorite. If you need halp interpreting my Sylesti slang just ask, sorry~

No worries, I've done Research. I might have to look things up, but I can do that.

I think Bulbori are kinda cute, at least as female- the little heart on their foreheads is neat. Luffs seem kinda plain in comparison, but I think both Nephini and Lunemaras are pretty- then again, I like most bugs in general, and moths in specific, so that last one isn't very surprising, heh. Why aren't you the biggest fan of those species?

They're just not... exactly my thing. Bugs are awesome (minus sipders) but... Anyway, I like baby Bulbs but not the adults too much, Luffs are too plain, and Nephs are weird winged armed noodles.

That's fair. I think bugs are lovely, but they're definitely not for everyone; and heck, even I'm afraid of spiders. Noodles can be fun too- just look at snakes, after all! Nephs are basically just snakes but with extra limbs, and I like that; it's hard to mistake them for something else.

Lunes have the cutest baby stage. Fight me.

But fableds like the Lighira or the Ryori are rare not because of popularity but because of cost and because you can only catch them in the wild during certain seasons. Lighira in the summer and Ryori in the fall. You can't catch puffs in the wild at all.

Personally I'd say that the most underappreciated would be aurls or draes.

Oh, is that how that works? I've also read that fableds have longer recovery time from breeding, which might also contribute to their rarity.

That being said, those two species seem to be nearly as rare as most fableds, given the random selections of hatchlings I've nurtured. They're not really my thing, personally, but I think they're neater than some of the more popular species I've seen.

Well there's the seasonal fabled and the non-seasonal. Puffs and Ny'venes are fabled because you can't find them in the wild. Puffs, aside from making them with essences and winning them from site contests, can only be bought from one specific store in Ethernia. Ny'venes are the same but you can get them as a rare prize from a dungeon too.

Aurls had a rough start on the site because their original art was... kind of off. The wings were kinda oddly proportioned. Because of this they became the first pet to get an art revamp and their popularity was raised a bit because of it. Still, they're not the most popular of pets. But it's hard to compete with wolves and cats and bears and fuzzy little squirrels, I suppose.
