I just noticed this, so I'm sorry I've already used the prize :/
The task list item for 5,000 total trick-or-treats was awarded to me on November 3, but I haven't actually done that yet - as of right now, I'm sitting at 4,409 total ToTs.
Unless it's like, visitor + host combined? But I don't think I would have been at 5k total at that time either way.
Anyway, if it's an issue, here are some screencaps.

I want to say - and I'm slightly guessing lol - that the Task List updates for every submission you make whether it's answered or not. However, the stats only update if it's answered.
Would that make sense? Lol.
It basically doesn't fault you for trying to visit people not answering. You still get rewarded for that effort.

Ohh, that might explain it. I don't suppose there's a way to check how many unanswered requests there are, huh. I'm thinking two days ago I probably had around 2-2.5k total ToTs, so it does seem like a LOT of unanswered requests if that's the reason, but if you're not concerned I won't be either, lol. :)
