Shadows of Despair
Kumisaki City:
There's been a mysterious increase in the number of suicides recently. It's all over the news. Strangely, there have even been mass suicide attempts lately. No one knows what's going on, except for six middle/high school aged** aged girls. Strangers to each other, and completely different in personality, these six girls meet each other through....unfortunate circumstances. What links them as is Kyubey, the magical-girl maker. He grants any one wish of young girls. In exchange, he turns them into magical girls. It's a cruel world for magical girls...truly, you either die a hero, or live long to see yourself become a villain.
Rules:
>Bullying of other members will not be tolerated under any circumstance. Your characters can dislike and be rude to the others, but please refrain from being mean to other role players.
>I'd really like this to be a fun, engaging rp for everyone! And interesting. Please write at least two lines in your post. (The two-line requirement includes dialogue. "Hey!" does not count as a sentence.)
>Literate**, please. This is not a screen-write. Write it how you would write a story. ^^
>Do not ping everyone if you are having a back and forth rp with only one other member.
>You are free to make new characters at any point in the rp! Just make sure you're never rping more than three at one time.
**In Japan, middle consists of 7th, 8th, and 9th grade. High school consists of grades 10th to 12th
**Kumisaki is a fictional, technologically advanced city in Japan.
**Literate: "Literate roleplaying means that your roleplaying is written like you're telling a story--paragraphs, and no chatspeak, abbreviations, or slang" (Wikihow).
**Due to confusion over this detail, the schools the girl attend are conjoined. High school and middle school are in the same building. (Yes, this exists. I used to attend a middle school that was in the same building as the high school)
Today's the day. You look up, closing your eyes and smile slightly. Three nights ago, your biggest wish was granted. It's still so new and feels so...surreal. You've fought at least two witches since then. Or, rather, familiars. Kyubey explained to you that familiars are witches that aren't fully grown yet. They don't produce grief seeds, unfortunately. Witches do. According to Kyubey, grief seeds are very important. As you fight witches and use more magic, you notice that your soul gem becomes duller. If you press a grief seed to it, it becomes bright again! You always want to keep it bright. However, familiars just don't provide the seeds--all they do is force you to use your magic fighting them. Unfortunately, even familiars can cause great harm to people. Some girls fight familiars, and other don't, is how Kyubey explained it. There's really no benefit in fighting familiars, except for the fact that you saved innocent people from being harmed by them.
Still, though, your mind still whirls from the new information. And to top it all off, there's even more to it than that! You glance at your watch. It's been ten minutes since school ended and you have to be at the park by 3:30 pm. --you had even skipped your favorite after-school activity for it! Apparently, Kyubey granted other wishes too! He made four other magical girls on the same night. He had highly advised you to go to the park to meet the other girls, and who were you to reject his advice? You have no idea what you're doing!
Before long, you finally reach the designated area. You immediately notice a girl leaning against the grandiose water fountain. She waves at you, and you figure she must be a magical girl. Your suspicions are confirmed when you approach her. "Hello," she says carefully. "I'm Seiko Kurogawa. I'm the one who asked Kyubey to gather you here today."

((I don't think Sixteen year olds would be in what was considered "middle school".))

((Fifteen is. They're in Japan, where middle school is 7th through 9th grade. Also, school begins in the spring time there. And again, they're in a technologically advanced city. Meaning a little *futuristic*. Ages can be different.
Please feel free to ping me with any other concerns/complaints! ^^

((But some of the characters are sixteen. That would put them in at least 10 or 11 grade. I know middle school in Japan is 7-9. But that usually means ages around 12-14. So I'm just a little confused. Even if it is futuristic, I don't think high school aged students would appreciate being in middle school))

((Okay? I'm sorry but I really don't know what you want me to do about it. I realized the mistake after I decided the ages, and I don't want to ask everyone to change their character age.

((I fixed it. It's a rather small detail in regards to the plot, but if it saves you some stress, then I suppose it's worth it.
