this happened to me before i think:
so, i was exploring and one of my party pets had 16 mana, then we kept exploring the zone without battling anything then i left that tab open for some time. when i came back however, his mana decreased to 6 mana? does exploring and all that decrease mana over time, since mana is kinda like the pet's energy level?

Pets regain some HP and lose some mana at set time intervals when not in battle. Can't remember if it's once every 5, 10 or 15 minutes.
Edit: Mana still decreases on the time ticks regardless of whether the pet has full HP or not.
