A six day old kit mewed pitifully. Huger tore at his small stomach, while his mom lay not to far off from his den. Fatal wounds crossed her body, the scent of death and fox layered her. Raven was blind to these scents, as his sense of smell was not yet fully developed. Yet he understood he was starving.

Skypaw quietly jumped over the log in the forest, raising her head to sniff the air. Her misty blue eyes looked up at the stars. As if Star Clan was replying, they seemed to wink back at her. She sighed, curling her tail around her legs as she sat. Recently, the she cat had been receiving strange dreams- she was in her body, but something was wrong. Some included a brown Tom who called himself Oakheart. Others that haunted her were of dark, muscled tabby tom with glinting amber eyes.

The kit mewed for his mom quietly, while the fox began sniffing the ground, searching for the kit.
Bearpaw ~ Shadowclan
Bearpaw settled into his nest, sighing softly. Almost each night he had dreams of a battle with cats he didn't recognize, and a couple small kits battling alongside him. He hoped this night wasn't one of those. It was.

Burningpaw sat outside of the Apprentice Den. Sleep evaded him and he was unable to stop thinking of a blue short-haired she-cat with the eyes that were deep blue like the sea. He sighed.

He smelled it- fox. But something else was also mixed in. The dark furred Tom slink ed through the shadows of the trees towards the smells that's had caught his interest. Crouching behind a shrub, he spotted it. The russet furred canine was sniffing the air as well, but the direction it was heading in wasn't his. Confused as to what else the Fox had smelled, King followed it with his gaze. He spotted it soon enough. A ball of fur was curled up farther away from the cadaver of a she cat.

Raven mewed pitifully, only attracting the fox. His dark grey fur held the scent of milk and mixed clan cat. His fur would darken as he aged, only if he survived.

He froze as he heard the mew. Quickly, King thought of a plan, letting out a loud yoel to attract the fox's attention. Then he turned and scrambled up a healthy pine tree to his right.

The fox raised its head, then ran at King with a snarl. He could not climb of course, but growled as he circled the tree. The fox looked weak, and probably easy to defeat. He even had a slight limp. Maybe from the she-cat.

Bearpaw rolled in his nest as claws tore at the kittens around him. And as always, a warrior struck and killed him, but he didn't die until he saw a grey tom, who yowled "Badgerpaw!" Somehow, the tom seemed familiar. And his smile was caring, even as sorrowful tears fell.

King narrowed his eyes, still wary. The hungrier the fox was, the more desperate it would be after all. But he decided to fight it off. He sprung off the tree, twisting himself in midair to land of four feet. The black fur on his back raised up as he hissed at the fox.
