Feel free to post if:
- You have any type of chronic than illness (mental, physical, emotional, etc.)
- If you wish to learn how to support others with chronic illnesses
- If you know someone with a chronic illness and want to learn more
- You want to (but no unsolicited medical advice please)

This is just a safe space for peeps to share and receive information, articles, thoughts, etc. about chronic illness!

I don't have any, but my twins just come out of sdr because of cerebral palsy so maybe I could join anyway and learn how to be more supportive of my friends with chronic illnesses

Lovelock-
I mean Oxygen is wayyy overrated. I dont have any problems with my lungs but Im always open to learning about others conditions so Im more informed for the future!

IvyCat-
Hey! Hope your twins are doing well! As a general rule of thumb chronic illness affects everyone differently so Id say biggest thing you can do is ask them how they are doing or learn how their condition(s) affects them so you can help them out.

Laninafresa- Welcome!

Lucariopaw- I originally meant physical illnesses but mental illnesses are welcome too. Feel free to post! I myself have a form of anxiety (GAD) and so I dont mind if you want to post about stuff related to social anxiety.

I'd like to learn how to be more able to help others with chronic illnesses and more about other people problems. I have an ishy medical history so hearing/talking to others is a positive thing.

I was actually thinking about making a thread like this!

My list:

- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Type 1 diabetes
- Fibromyalgia
- Ehlers Danlos syndrome (?)
- TMJ
- Chronic migraines
- Celiac disease
- Some kind of hormone/reproductive issue
- Major depression
- Generalized and social anxiety

I have to wait about 8 months to get tested for Ehlers Danlos. Currently six specialists and my physical therapists all think it's the right diagnosis, just a matter of confirming it. It causes my kneecaps to partially dislocate 6+ times a day during normal activities, and my shoulders dislocate once or twice a week.

Rheumatoid arthritis was in remission for a couple years, doctor said I could start weaning off my meds after Christmas.... And what do I do two weeks before Christmas? Fall and break my ankle, triggering a flare I still have? Yup.

We're not really sure what's up with my hormones but basically if I'm not on hormonal birth control things go downhill fast. Got a Nexplanon implant and it's been wonderful so we're just leaving that mystery alone for now since it's handled.

But anyway, happy to answer questions if anyone has any. I've always been sick so I really don't mind anymore.
