Hey I just started today and I was wondering how can I generate pets or find new ones? I know you can buy them from other players or catch wild ones, but is there anywhere else to get pets?

Using Generator Essences (this guide is going to be updated in probably the next few days, but it's primarily to make it easier to navigate rather than information changes)

During festivals, you can also make specific Exclusive Theme pets via special methods specific to that fest (Gardening for Spring, Sandsylesti Building for Summer, Brewing for Fall, and Snowsylesti Building for Winter.)

You can also find egglings/baby sylesti while exploring, and you can buy Egglings from the Scale Shop, and the only way to get Tamed Ny'vene and Puffadore is by buying them from specific shops in Ethernia in the third region.

Aside from capturing and buying pets, there are a few ways to get new pets. The first is from using an essence. An essence is something you can find from defeating or nurturing a certain species, rewarding in an essence. You can also buy them from the Diamond Shop. The chances of finding one are low. Depending on the kind of essence you have, you can do certain things with it:
-Regular Essences generate 2 trait points, and are fairly accurate with colors. (Rare)
-Enhanced Essences generate 4 trait points, and are mostly accurate with colors. (Epic)
-Mystical Essences generate 4 trait points, and are extremely accurate with colors. (Legendary)
In order to use an essence, simply go to the Generator, and at the near top of the landing page is a button that says, "Click Here to Load an Essence". You can see which Mystical, Enhanced, and Regular Essences of each species you have there. To load an essence, simply click on it and then click, "Load Essence". Then, you can design your own Sylesti!

Another way to get pets are to find them in the wild as hatchlings or egglings. It is fairly uncommon to find an egg, but not nearly as rare as finding essences. If you happen to find an eggling out in the open, there is a teensy tinsy chance that the eggling still has parents looking after it; in that case, the eggling you find will be crushed beyond saving. However, most of the time the egglings are indeed abandoned, and once adopted, will be placed in your hatchery. Hatchlings are a little different from egglings, as I BELIEVE they can be found anywhere except Viridian Meadows (I am not 100% sure of this, I am just going off of experience). Every time I have found a wild hatchling, its parents have never come back for it, so I think you're safe there.

Sometimes, bosses can drop eggs as rewards, or can be found in chests (specifically the ones found in the Nightfall Bandit Dungeon, after fully completing it (I only read this, I have yet to find an egg from a chest this way)). If you want more info on these, you can ask and I'll let ya know, but do note that telling you would be spoiling a couple of things.
