Deep underground, in a massive cavern encased in stone woven with enchantments whose words are long forgotten, lies the city of Sabre. Thousands of years ago, the huge, beautiful city was populated with Sabreans, near-humans who dwelled deep underground. But for some reason unknown to us, the city was abandoned as the Sabreans retreated to deeper, smaller cities underground through the massive maze of tunnels throughout the earth. These tunnels were far too deep for humans to discover, and the Sabreans were safe. The entrances to Sabre itself were sealed, and what lay within was fogotten. But the Sabraens are close to disappearing, and what is in Sabre could possibly save them.

When Sabre was closed off, a witch woman, outcast and ridiculed, gave the Sabreans a warning: If Sabre was closed off, they would suffer and die for their mistake. They didn't listen, so she told a prophecy that someday, there would be six who could either save Sabre... or doom them all. They laughed, and she allowed herself to be sealed inside the city. Legend tells that she still haunts the place.

Sabreans
Pale skinned, dark eyed people who live deep underground, and it is not uncommon for them to have magical abilities. They are ruled by a queen, and leadership is passed from daughter to daughter. They can live several hundred years, but they are slowly dying out since they can only each have a single child every ten years.
Kvoth
Giant bat-like creatures that are used as mounts for the Sabreans, but usually only for the richer.
Yaw Fungi
Small, glowing mushrooms and fungi that grow in damp caves, and are gathered and farmed by Sabreans.
Evyorn
Massive, hairless, black skinned wolf like creatures who have six red eyes and six inch long claws. They are the most dangerous things in the caves.
