Can you explain further? Generally it's a good thing not to fail missions, and I'm not sure what the issue is.

I send a pet off on a 6hr mission and they come back not having succeeded.

Hm. Which pet was it, and what mission, if you remember? If it wasn't high enough in a particular stat, that's probably why it failed the mission.

When you start a mission it will tell you a specific stat that it focuses on. Each mission has a hidden number. If the stat of the pet you choose is over that number then it passes the mission. If you pet failed it means that its stat was too low.

Pets don't necessary succeed a mission. If their needed stat is high enough, then they would succeed. that 6hr mission is pretty hard, so its not unusual for a pet to fail it

To all so far that have commented on this and to anyone who has further help...
Thank you...
I didn't realise that for the higher missions it was not just a pet's high level that counted.... I will take better care to read the blurb in future.

Yeah, stats are what is important. For missions, Proficiency and Equips both count alongside the Base stats. You can go look at the Guide to Missions and Mission Pets in the player guide section here, which might help more.
