Disappearances, Murders, Odd sightings... No one can explain it and now, old friends have moved back to town, so why now are these things happening?

Rowan stood on their porch, running a hand through his scruffy hair, it had been a hard day at the hospital. He breathed out heavily, leaning back against the wall, he dropped the cigarette onto the table and stared out at the town infront of him. "Same as always." Grumbling, he took out another cigarette, remembering how his mum always used to lecture him, he put it back, "That's probably enough for one day."

Katrina glanced up at the house. It was the same as it had been years ago... the lawn overgrown slightly, the small weeds poking through. The tree next to it hung over most of the front lawn- the tree that she remembered climbing up on.

This house was the one exactly across the street from her childhood home. Her best friend, Anna, had lived here. But Anna was gone now, and Kat wished she hadn't remembered why. She shook her head to clear the thoughts as the moving van appeared up on the other end of the street. Waving, Katrina gestured to the house.

Rowan spotted a familiar figure in front of one of the houses. He squinted, trying to make out who it was. Breathing out heavily, he made his way forwards, until he was a few meters away and that was when he realized who it was.

She didn't hear him approaching as the moving van stopped by the curb, so she didn't turn. Katrina nodded to the drivers as they got out of the van and opened the back of it for her.

Realising that she hadn't noticed him, Rowan approached her, placing his hand on her shoulder. "Hey, you're back in town, huh?"

She spun, her eyes flickering up to look over her face. She took a while to recognize the 'stranger' and then a calm smile spread over her face. "Rowan!" She would have hugged him, but that may have been awkward. "Yeah, I'm moving back! How long has it been?"

He smiled slowly and nodded, "Yeah, I've been good... I guess, everyone who was in school with us moved away, didn't have any friends anyway, so it was okay." He shrugged, placing his hands into his pockets.

"It's good to see a familiar face." She glanced at Anna's house- no, her house, before looking back at him. "I was afraid everyone was gone."

"Yeah well like I said, most people are..." He watched where her eyes glanced to and a frown rose on his face, "What do you keep looking at?"

"Nothing." Katrina said quickly. "I mean, I was just looking at the house I'm moving into. That one right there." She pointed.
