So, I just used a lesser genetic mutator on my Adolescent Male Sylvorpa, and nothing happened. All his genes and mutations still say None. And yes, it's a pet I captured. I've refreshed the page, too. So why did nothing happen?

I am guessing it received a carried trait and that it is Genetically Tested, so you can't see it.

No, it's not genetically tested. I've only ever had the one from the tutorial/starter kit, and I used that already on Rocker (which gave me nothing, even though I think he was uncommon). More than that, when I used a genetic mutator on Rocker - sometime after I tested him - it worked and his info shows a carried trait (a mutation, specifically).

Oh, while I'm thinking of it: Do carried traits not show up on captured pets until you genetically test them? Cause I've caught uncommon pets, and nothing is listed in their traits or mutations. My Male Sylvorpa (Pluto) is actually supposed to be a rare pet, but nothing was listed in his genes or mutations (which is why I used the mutator). Or did the whole rarity-trait point thing (found the info about this somewhere, though I forget where) go away and I don't know about it?

Genetics exist as soon as a pet is created. Testing them just allows players to see what they have. But untested pets can still pass along their genetics when breeding.

The rarity/trait thing is different for each of the explore systems lol. It's not intentional, it's just that each time we update and release a new explore system, we make changes to how things work. So it will depend on what the information was provided for, Region 1 and 2, Region 3, or the Lost Grove.

I thought that'd be the case, but I haven't been able to breed much yet - everything except the third egg in my hatchery has been from random encounters during exploration. I'm guessing Region 1 is Viridian Meadows? If so, that's where most of my captured pets came from. Pluto is the only one to come from the Umbra Forest. And I'm not sure for which region the info was provided - I don't really remember anything other than finding it, and that uncommons have one trait point, while rares have two. Does that ring any bells?

They're all kinda different, haha. I'd imagine you could ask that question in the Q&A Forum and get an exact answer from a player who spends a lot time still roaming around the various Regions.

Region 1 is indeed Viridian Meadows (Lvl 1-25).
Region 2 is Umbra Forest (Lvl 25-50).
Region 3 is Astryl's Vale (Lvl 50-60).
And Lost Grove is just Love Grove (Lvl 60-75).

Regions 1 and 2 use the same code. So they'll share mechanics.

Region 3 uses different code that's also shared by Festival Zones. But the future use of Festival Zones are unknown at this time due to the release of the Lost Grove.

And then the Lost Grove uses a lot of new mechanics and features not seen anywhere else.

I'll do that. But back to the glitch I came to report originally. I suppose you'll tell me when you find something?

Can you link me the pet in question?

As I said, it must have received a Carried Trait which won't be visible to you until the pet is Genetically Tested.

It can still pass the Carreid Trait on to its offspring through breeding through, regardless of whether it's tested or not.

Oh, I understand what you're saying now. So Rocker's appeared because he was already genetically tested. Pluto's not, so it won't appear until I do, right?

Correct.

And I can verify he does indeed have a Carried Trait - a few, actually. =P
