I was wandering around the lost grove and when I encountered a tree sprite, my computer crashed (99% sure that was unrelated to Sylestia). Now the buttons in the explore window are gray and unclickable, and the chat window only advances when I reset the page.

I would try clearing your cache and reloading the page - or just performing a hard refresh might work.
