It's a stormy night, thunder booms and lightning cracks, so most creatures are hiding and taking shelter, except humans, who adapted, and overcame, continuing their conquest even in the extreme conditions.

Reina, despite knowing it wouldn't work, fought against the chains holder her. Her flight feathers had been clipped, so even if she could escape, she wouldn't be ableSome humans stood outside her cage, which rested dangerously on the edge of the boat. As if on cue, the boat rocked harshly, tipping her overboard and into the ocean. Even if she could get free, her wings would weigh her down and drown her. Even so, she still fought to escape

Drew swam through the dark ocean, the currents tugging at his near-black hair as he swam. His eyes widened and he swam back a few feet when the cage fell into the ocean, sending fish in disarray and stirring up a bunch of bubbles.

"Willow?" Miria said, on the back of her lover.
"Yeah?"
"I-I just heard something."
"Hmm.." Willow said, flicking her long ears. "Yeah.. me too."

"Oh dear." The vibrantly colored mermaid said. "Someone's in danger!"
"DON'T JUMP IN." Willow shrieked

Hato was enjoying the beautiful scene of the rain coming down. As he wander in the ocean he sees a light and a cage. Its was a human boat in the middle of the storm with a cage on it,He hears scream and signs of struggle. The cage tips over with a splash sending a clash of bubbles. He swims to the cage and sees someone inside of it. They weren't a mermaid and he knew they would of drowned if no one help it. So hato tries to open the cage with all his might.

Reina flared her wings out, struggling to keep her air in her lungs, and silently hoping no mermaids were near. Ever since she was young, she heard the rumors from everyone "Mermaids sink ships and will eat you alive"
She felt her chest tighten as she realized she had no hope of escaping, and as the air inside her wasn't enough

"SCREW IT!" Miria shouted, leaping inside. Her tail seemed to glow in the water

Hato tries earnestly as the lock of the cage refuses to budge, After one final push the lock comes undone and the person trap in the cage is free. He sees and recognized it as a young girl. Due to the murky ocean water he could not see her wings. He grabs her and tries to bring her up to the surface. He was shocked to see that she was quiet heaver than he had imagined.

"She okay?" Miria said worryingly

Drew joined the other merman in an attempt to help carry the other person to the surface.

"Sounds like a storm is rolling in..." the shorter, darker centaur said to her counter part. The two were walking along a trail in the woods not far from the coast, searched for a spot to settle down for the night.
"Means we need to hurry." The male said rubbing his face some before picking up the pace into a trot. The gazelle like woman followed, the jewelry about her small horns jingling. With grace the two scaled a bit of a rocky embankment where they had see a cave before. "This will do." He sighed curling up along on wall. Wincing some he held a hand over the arrow wound in his left front horse shoulder.
"I'll go gather wood for a fire." The woman said before going out again.
