In the world of Arthis, there is a massive singular continent, itself being called Arthris. Arthris is divided into three regions.
Solace, the main working class people. They have a kingdom though, beyond the villages. Think of every medieval or whenever kingdom ever, ruled by a noble King, Erik.
Nocturn, a kingdom forged of crystals by their Everlasting Queen, Sarafis, who rules with a wise heart. People of mysticism and wonder.
Crystis, an odd miss-mash of tinkerers and people wearing steampunk stuff. They like to build, and have rich gem mines that they use in the lost art of Enchantment. They have both a King and a Queen, Radolf and Kaya.
Normals, who are your average humans but with elf ears. They live in the world of Arthris, and make up roughly 77% of the population. There are also Folk, who have mingled with Humans who explored from wherever they came, creating Normals, who are the dominant rulers of most of Arthris, particularly the Solace reigon.
Mages, who have control over one particular thing (like telepathy, fire, flight, etc) and are able to use basic and intermediate spells. They are known to have odd eye colors and faintly tinted skin tones, as well as claws and slit pupils. Mages are the rarest population, making up just under 15% of all people in both Solace and Arthis as a whole, except for in Nocturn, where they make up 96%, and Crystis, where they make up 32%.
Enchanters, who have the innate ability to use another kind of spell, that being augmentation spells, which is a unique ability of Enchanters. They will make an item like a necklace, gauntlet, ring, or earring, and affix a jewel to it. The jewel will have some sort of natural boost, like peacekeeping, reflexes, or a higher jump, but this will be slight. Then the Enchanter will bind the item with a single spell. Enchanters have birthmarks somewhere on their body, only one, that can describe them, as it is in the rough shape of something. A wolf would denote a loner, while a plant would denote an herbalist, a swan a dancer, and an owl, one who is wise.
On the border of the three kingdoms is a school known as ADE, where Mages and Enchanters can learn how to use their powers for the benefit of all. Both populations are losing the number of magic users. You are one such student.
NOTES: While people can be Mages, defined by their skin and eyes, and Enchanters, defined by the specially shaped birthmark, that does not mean that they have the power to create magic. This is why Nocturn and Crystis have not engulfed Solace and the universe. One who has powers is rare and special, generally one out of ten children has the power. Also! No electricity! No jeans! No sunglasses or any modern technology! Think knights and castles! And if mages are injured, they lose their specialness.
