Don't mind the title, I just wasn't sure what to put and "Hi" or "I'm new" seemed too simple.
But... Hi, I'm new!
I'm Brenning. Stumbled across the site a while back while searching for something (I honestly can't recall what, probably mythical creatures or something along those lines), just got around to signing up last night and have been stumbling around ever since.
I got drawn in by the creatures since I'm a big fan of Digimon (and Pokemon, but Digimon is my favorite of the two) and other similar settings with intriguing monsters and creatures. I'm also a big fan of mythology and folklore from around the world, including mythical creatures.
Other things I like range from Doctor Who, Star Wars, Tokusatsu heroes (such as Kamen Rider, Ultraman and Super Sentai) and other superheroes (Green Lantern and Spider-Man among my favorites), general sci-fi and fantasy, reading, writing stories (including both fan works and original settings), Mystery Science Theater 3000 and so on. This is the condensed list, I could go on, but I'm probably already boring anyone who has read this far.
Don't really have any major goals here yet other than getting some nifty avatar items and creating a custom non-starter pet, but I'm sure I'll have some broader goals once I get a better hang of the site. I like having goals to work for in games I play, so I'm sure I'll find something I want to accomplish or save up for.
I'm really not sure what to say, so if you want or need to know anything, feel free to ask. And I would be very grateful for any tips or hints about the site, including links to posts or tutorials for info about anything (though please no videos as I am hard-of-hearing due to side effects of chemotherapy).

Welcome to Sylestia! c:
I'd say the Player Guides forum is a good place to peruse. But here's a few guides that have some good info for you starting out:
Comprehensive Guide to Basics - for the whole site
Battler's Guide - for statting your pets going forward; the stat system might be a bit tricky to grasp, but hopefully this helps make sense of things if you're stuck.
(if you still have moy questions, you can post in the Q&A forum, or the Battle forum!)
Biggest tip that I saw on another thread is to do missions from the town barracks when you can. ^^ It's a good source of income. The first link should have a guide on how to do them.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask and others should answer em. I hope you enjoy your time here!

Welcome to Sylestia!
As you can see, there are plenty of giving players~ We're a pretty fun community, I'd say! I like a lot of things you like too, w00t w00t MST3K!
I've played on a fair amount of different pet sites, and Sylestia is by far my favorite. There is a lot of freedom on color combos and traits to play around with.
Feel free to message me if you need help or just want to chat. ^-^

Welcome, I'm clearing out my stables so choose any you like from:
I am also a big fan of sci-fi and fantasy. Did you watch the old Doctor who's or just the new ones? I like numbers 7 and 11 best out of the doctors.

Thank you for the welcomes! Sorry it took a day to respond, my internet kept cutting out yesterday (not sure what happened, the whole neighborhood was affected that I know about).
Kyokai - MST3K is one of those things that can almost always bring up my mood no matter what kind of upset I am (sad, angry, etc.). Even old episodes I've seen 100 times already, like the old VHS tapes from my brother who recorded the show back when it was still in production that I watched until the tapes broke.
Amaya - I grew up watching classic Doctor Who with my big brother. The downside is I grew up in the middle of nowhere in the US, so other than my brother and two of his friends, NOBODY else knew about it back then where I lived. Those that did only vaguely knew of Tom Baker's Doctor or the 8th Doctor from the FOX TV movie. So there I was as a kid with a replica of the 4th Doctor's scarf my grandma crocheted for me and a plastic celery stalk from an arts and crafts store pinned to my jacket (not for Halloween, this was my equivalent of all the other kids wearing movie or band t-shirts), and all my classmates and teachers just thought I was weird (which I suppose was technically true).
My favorite Doctor is really hard to pin down as I really enjoy different aspects of all the incarnations, but right now I would probably go with 3 and 10, and The Valeyard if you count him as an incarnation. My favorite companions are Jamie McCrimmon, Sarah Jane, Wilfred Mott and Rory Williams.
Bluepearl13 - OH!!! I would love one of those!! When I was playing around with the generator after I joined and saw the Lunamera, I literally squealed with delight because my favorite giant movie monster is Mothra.

I think I'm a bit younger. My dad introduced my and my brother to it when it was doing reruns here in Australia. They reran from the first through to the 7th doctor, I am wondering now if it was in prep for the new series though it was a few years earlier. Its a little bit better known here in Australia, but mostly the new season by my generation.
Rory should definitely be up there on most people's lists, I think I liked Donna as well and from the old series Ace (especially with the Cat people) caught my eye but that might have been her proximity to my favourite Doctor. Sarah is a great companion especially now that she has her own agency, early she was just a good screamer but that was how they cast the companions I think.
