Where do I go to unlock the 3rd party slot?

You have to go to the Sanctuary of Saerielle, in the Umbra Forest, so right now I'm assuming that you are still on Viridian Meadows, so you need to finish that, then go to the Umbra Forest central town, and you will un lock it!
