(if you don't want to read the whole thing, just skip to post two)
It has been years since the Sueil left us, but we are still feeling the aftershocks of their decision.
They were our mentors, our guiding light, and now...gone. All gone, and we are light children...lost and astray,
with no idea of how to proceed...
This roleplay takes place on an alien planet called Kamanye Prime, a water-covered planet with many seperate islands, each with different creatures and cultures. In this RP, you are on one of the islands: Etrucil. It is a rather large island, inhabited by a species called the Bio-Yino.
There were once four kinds of Bios, now there are three. But we have lost more than one in the process.
It was once a peaceful land. The Sancts, tall, colorful, and technologically advanced, lived in one large city in the lowlands. The hills and forest was dominated by the Chantar, a peaceful society that cared for nature and had a strong link to animals. The mountains were fiery back then, and from their burning hearts came a fearful race, the Kempa, who wanted to rule the whole land.
Finally, there were the Sueil. They sought order above everything else, and guided us to get along. They are the reason we have come this far.
The Sanct are intelligent and live in cities. They come in many different colors and are usually over 6' tall. They are all the same gender, but sometimes identify as male or female. They are capable of taking an incorporeal form, in which they look like colored smoke.
The Chantar are shorter than the Sancts. They are also colorful, but tend to be more natural tones (brown, gray, green, etc). They have animal parts (for instance, ears or tails, horns, snake eyes, fangs, etc) and have a bond with animals, particularly the ones they resemble. Because of their peacefulness, they are sometimes taken advantage of.
The Kempa are very warlike and bloodthirsty. They have little value for life. They are extremely ambitious. They are immune to fire or intense heat.
The Sueil seek order, but not necessarily justice. They are rarely seen. They are deep thinkers, very wise, and often like to spend days on end discussing matters with other Sueil. They tend to see all other species as inferior.
The Kempa stole some of the Sanct technology, and began to experiment with genetic engineering. They wanted to create a new race, a super race, one powerful enough to wipe out all the others. But they needed help.
They recruited the Chantar to help them, convincing them to rise up and not be overlooked as 'simple folk'.
The Chantar donated genetic material to the Kempas' cause, but it was a mistake.
The Kempa created a species that are now called the Halloweds. They were vicious, beastly, part animal-part demon. They fed on fear, and had a thirst for blood that surpassed even the Kempa.
At first, the Kempa seemed to be succeeding. The Halloweds wiped out the Chantar and, before long, had gone after the Sancts.
The Sancts cried out to the Sueil for help, but they turned a deaf ear in response. Deciding that Etrucil was beyond any hope of order, the Sueil left.
Even the Kempa were terrified at this. They had never expected the Sueil to leave. And that was their mistake.
The Halloweds sensed their fear, and turned on their own creators. The Kempa had made them too smart, too strong, and they were no match for them. Etrucil lost three species at the hands of one.
But then, something remarkable happened. Aliens came from the sky to fight the Halloweds, explorers from other worlds. They called themselves Haumons. They were bold, defiant, and afraid of nothing--perhaps to a fault. They made a deal with the Sancts: if they could beat back the Halloweds, then the Sancts would let them stay and live on Etrucil.
Miraculously, they succeeded. The Halloweds were driven back inside their borders, and lay dormant for a time.
But though they could defeat even the fiercest beasts, Haumons did not thrive on Etrucil. It was too cold, too bright, the technology was too different. They were dying faster than they could reproduce, and the Sancts felt obligated to help.
They used their genetic manipulating technology to create new, stronger Haumons. But the experiments were faulty, and, occasionally, Haumons would go mad.
The Sancts formed a group of Caretakers that raised child Haumons until the age of 34. This way, by the time Haumons were released into complete freedom, the Sancts could be sure that they were safe.

Just so it's clear:
+Chantar and Kempa are all gone, but there are some Bio-Yinos who still carry their blood.
+Not all Halloweds are completely evil, and not all Sancts are completely good; there are crossbreeds between Sancts/Halloweds. These are cast out of both societies and live in the forest, where they have made their own race: the "Wilds". They live in tribes.
+Haumons are basically humans.
+This is all original, any similarities to other things are purely coincidental.
Chantar:
Shorter
Have a bond with animals and nature
Have animal parts
Have more neutral/natural tones (brown, gray, green)
Kempa:
Shorter
Are warlike and bloodthirsty
Not notably intelligent
Overly ambitious
Sueil:
Left Etrucil
Want order
Are philosophical and deep thinkers
Prefer not to get involved in other races' matters
Sancts:
Highly intelligent
Inventors; improvisers
Feel obligated to help the Haumons
Colorful
Can take incorporeal form
Halloweds:
Genetically Engineered
Bloodthirsty; drawn to fear/can sense fear
Created to take over Etrucil
Wilds:
Do it their own way
Don't take sides
Live in the forest
Sometimes have animal parts, like the Chantar
Haumons:
Basically humans
Sometimes genetically modified
Live with Sancts
Can defeat Halloweds
