I can not for the life of me figure out how to put them side by side, can someone tell me how, please?

If you're talking about posting images, you have to control the image size. If it's an image from this site, like a pet's image, near the end of the image url there should be a &size=__.
You'll need to change that to 250 or below, to fit multiple images at the same line.
If the image is not from this site, you'll need to go to the source and see if the image size can be adjusted.
