Ember Vanderwick: Hufflepuff, blonde hair, blue eyes, female. She's kind and super sweet, also energetic. Her brother is Josh.
Adrian Harper: Slytherin, dark hair, green eyes, male. He's from a pureblood family. He hates any muggle or person with muggle blood.

Victoria looked up in awe at the Hogwarts Express. "It's amazing, Ma," she said, looking up at Penelope Clearwater, her adopted mother.

"Yes- yes, it is," Penelope's eyes seemed wet with tears as she recollected her memories at Hogwarts. She looked down at Victoria. "I'm going to miss you."

"Don't worry!" she said, laughing. "I'll write- borrow one of the owls from the owlery. And you're going to miss Echo too!" She held up the small kitten she had gotten as a gift from Penelope.

"Oh, I will!" She hugged Victoria, then nodded at the train. "Now go make some friends."

I was still tired from the trip to King's Cross. Caireann trilled in her fancy cage, and I pulled my wool shawl closer, enjoying the comfort of the Aran wool. Even though I was pureblood, my parents both had a good idea of the 'Muggle way of doing things.' We own a car, they have jobs, and live in a normal neighborhood, and have passports and ID's, and I spent the first years of my life learning Gaelic and working on the farm and going to a normal school. I let my head rest on Caireann's cage, wondering if I would be put in Ravenclaw like the rest of my family, wondering if I would do well.
Wondering if I would make friends.

Victoria walked down the isle of the Hogwarts Express, mumbling 'Excuse me's and 'Pardon me's as she pushed past a group of Gryffindors.

She finally found an empty compartment and sat in it, putting her luggage away and sitting Echo on her lap. She opened the book she was reading, Jane Eyre, and flipped to her last page, marked with a bronze and blue book mark.

Ember and I sit in the back train car all alone. I stare moodily out a window as she reads a book.

Echo suddenly leaped out of her lap and ran out of the compartment.

"Hey!" Victoria yelled, getting up. She dropped her book and ran after the black kitten. She followed the kitten to the last compartment, where it leaped onto the lap of a girl her age. Another student, most likely her brother, sat next to her.

She scooped the kitten out of the girls lap. "So sorry! Echo runs off a lot!"

Caireann started freaking out, and I sleepily got up to take her to the back compartment. Other people were glaring at us. She calmed down when I stepped inside to see three other people. "Dia dhuit." I sat down next to them, fiddling with the hem of my shawl.

Irish? Victoria turned to the newcomer. "Oh- hello."

The girl had red hair and green eyes. Glasses sat on her nose, and she had a shawl draped around her.

Victoria smiled at her, then proceeded to go back to her compartment.
