Rhys quietly checked his clock. Two of his sisters, Risza and Renae, shared a room right next door, and the walls between them were especially thin so he had to be quiet. He was the only one of his siblings with his own room, since he was the only boy. He had Hiraani's old room, since she moved out of the family house to Nimbasa city.

He quickly got dressed, very excited for today, when he would receive his first Pokemon. Well, he already had an egg, but that didn't count yet since it hadn't hatched yet.



Serenity sighed as she got dressed. "Morning Reunu" She greeted the solosis. She named it Reunu since it would evolve into a reuniclus. Today was the day she had planned on escaping, so she woke up extra early. She brushed her hair and teeth, grabbing some of the cash she managed to keep away from her parents, who usually would take all of her pay.

"Okay Reunu, time to bounce" She said quietly, opening her window. She grabbed the small solosis and hugged it and they floated to the ground. Serenity had nothing with her except her clothes and a bag of necessities.

"Zo-rua!" A voice chirped, and small paws stepped onto Brea's face. She groaned, batting the paws away and mumbling a hurried, "Go away, Rua." She had nicknamed it that.

The small, fox-like pokemon ignored her dismissal, letting out a few more chants of 'Zorua', and finally Brea woke up. "What is it?" She rubbed her eyes, looking down at the stern Zorua. Slowly, her eyes widened in surprise as she caught a glance at the clock. "Oh, right," she whispered. "We have to leave... Mom won't like this. And when Dad finds out..."

She got up anyway, grabbing the bag of clothes and pokemon food and everything else she would need. Pulling on her usual sweatshirt and shorts, she crept downstairs and exited, looking back only once at the quiet house. Brea sighed, then ran out into the nearly-empty city of Striation.

Rhys, not paying much attention, and not expecting anyone else to be out, charged right into Brea, sending the two of them flying through the air.


Serentiy managed to convince a biker gang to assist her in getting to Straiton city. They were a bit confused, but they were all good people at heart, letting her ride with them on their bikes, denying the need to be paid for the ride. She thanked them wholeheartedly and continued walking, glad she was far away from home at this point.

In the darkness, Brea couldn't tell who or what is was that had sent her flying. She felt around for Zorua, realizing the pokemon was standing in front of her, watching for what had seemingly 'attacked' her.

It let out a very angry "Zo-Rua!" and sniffed the air.

Rhys groaned, rolling from his side onto his stomach. "Ugh... my bad, I didn't think anyone else would be out here at this time" He groaned, propping himself up in his arms and knees, finally standing up, fairly disoriented. "Are you alright?" He asked, looking around for the person he had charged into. He wasn't too sure it was even a person he ran into, he might've hit a light or a Pokemon.

Brea was relieved to hear a human voice. "Yeah, I'm fine. I didn't think anyone would be out here either." She got up off the ground, brushing the dirt off her clothes and picking up Zorua, who was still wary. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine, don't worry, I'm really tough" He said. "So, where're you heading? I'm going to Accumula town if you want to join me, then I'm going over to Nuvema town" Rhys told her.

She still couldn't get a good look, but the person was male for sure, and around her age judging by voice. "I'm on the way to... I'm not sure, actually. I was deciding between heading to Nuvema or Castelia." She blinked, her eyes adjusting to the dark. "Or anywhere I can find someone to teach me. Anywhere I can find pokemon." She sighed. "Okay, now I realize I haven't been thinking this through."

Suddenly, Zorua leaped out of her arms and onto the other person. Brea yelped in surprise.

"What the-" Rhys stumbled backwards a bit, catching the Zorua. "Oh, this is a Zorua! Did you find it around here? Because my oldest sister had a zoroark and when she was breeding it at one point we had a few of them escape. I sent my penpal a Zorua egg from the same group as the escaped ones, I hope she likes it" Rhys commented

Serenity froze as she heard people talking, her solosis preparing to defend her. After listening to their conversation, she decided they weren't a threat, and began to approach, but remained as quiet as possible as she walked.
