I walk out of the small town that I call home and up the snowy path to the clearing where all the 15 year olds on the quest are supposed to meet. My dragon, Flame, leaps into the air and I watch him for a moment. I will miss my sleepy, snowy village as I head into the mountains. I will never let it show though of course.

Harper grinned at Nathaniel as she urged Roran to dive steeper. "Come on, Roran! I thought you liked beating Lila?"

Yeah, but I get beat up after! He answered, but he slightly angled his flight downward more.

Lila was barely in front of him, Nathaniel on her back, glancing back at her. "You're going to lose, Harper!" Lila joined in with her own jeers. Yeah, Roran!

The two siblings were racing to the clearing where the meeting was to begin, and Nathaniel had dropped into a dive first, giving him and Lila an unfair advantage.

"Not this time!" She yelled, Roran passing Lila just as they landed on the ground. "Hah! We won, Nate. Again."

Torin glanced up at the sky where he saw a flicker of gold through the trees. A smile twitched at the corners of his mouth. Oh, look who decided to show up.

"Solar!" He yelled up to his dragon. "Get down here!"

A few seconds later, the golden dragon landed, shaking the ground and sending leaves onto the snowy floor. Hello Torin, a familiar voice said. And yes, I did decide to show up instead of lazing at home. You look terrible, by the way, the voice commented to the blonde boy.

*Josh*

"Alright Flame, come down here. The others are arriving now!" I call to my dragon.

Oh, alright He grudgingly lands next to me.

Harper laughed, still on Roran's back. Nathaniel berated her, still annoyed.

"You shouldn't be diving so fast! Especially when you don't even use a saddle like everyone else!" He scolded, "You could get hurt!"

She rolled her eyes at her brother. "You're just bitter that I won, Nate." She then scanned the clearing, only noticing another teenage boy in the center with his red dragon.

"Hello!" She yelled. "Are you here for the quest?"

*Josh*

"Yes" I grin, having heard their conversation.
"And for the record I prefer to ride bareback as well" I grin.

Harper grinned right back as Nathaniel peered over her shoulder at the boy warily. "Yeah- Nathaniel here doesn't understand that it's fun! I'm Harper Siltan, your fellow adventurer on this quest with you." She nudged Nathaniel, and he spoke too.

"Nathaniel Siltan, nice to meet you," he said, glowering at the boy for some odd reason. Lila snorted at him, speaking only to him. Your sister doesn't fancy some random stranger, you idiot!

Harper held her hand out.

I shake her hand, my grip firm and strong.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Josh" I say to them.
