If you're a player and starting off, you can only be one of two species:

Half-fairy, half human-
You can have the ability of flight, but that's as far as it goes.
Weaknesses include the inability to use normal weapons, only the specialized type, which are rare and hard to find if you want them to be effective
Human
Mostly everything is available to you
Weaknesses include the inability of flight.

Definitions:

Charged Conduit: Something that has a stream of magic that you can draw from it, and also channels your magic so it becomes more focused, therefore allowing you to use more spells. The more base magic (amount of magic you start off with) that a charged conduit has, the more you can draw from it. However, that takes a strong bond.
Ex. Inuit the Fox
Conduit: Something that's able to channel your magic so it becomes more focused, and therefore allow you to use more spells. You can transfer your magic into a conduit that allows the conduit to fire spells.
Ex. a wand
Live Conduit: A living conduit. Though more unpredictable than a normal conduit due to their ability to think independently, and follow orders.
Ex. Inuit the Fox
Illusionary Magic: Magic that fools sight. Can allow camouflage, disguise, and variety of other things. It's one of the most difficult to maintain, but also one of the most desired magical abilities. It's associated with shadows, and was thought to have originated from Inuit the Fox, due to a similar tricky nature. Most often, illusions meant to stay are done through runes.

Hunters: Guardians of the Forest ensuring that people do not cross the Border of the Forest which leads to _____
Varsya: Realm that currently trades the most with the Forest. Relations before the Forest are unknown, but it was said that after the War of Dawn, Hunters and the elven royalty worked out any problems and became trading partners.
Chysefin: The original name of Feitale Forest. It was changed after the Hunters emerged in the aftermath of the War of Dawn
Wraith: Mystical beings that often carry messages which explain why they didn't pass on to the next life, what it is that keeps them there
Ex. Elith, the last protector of the Looking Glass
The Looking Glass: The Looking Glass was offered as a peace offering to the Forest, with one piece in the Forest and one in Varsya. The piece in Varsya disappeared, and is rumored to be somewhere in the Forest.

A Little History

There is a legend passed around of Twelve Beasts. Twelve Beasts whom controlled all aspects of life from their throne in he sky. But as all tales go, there would be unrest.
The Shadowed Ones, known then as the Llynre, were always wary of the Beasts, for they believed nothing should have the power to control a world. Therefore, they lead a revolution. The revolution, called the Shading, is now a secret. There is only, to the world's eye, the War of Dawn, in which the War never ended, for the battle was never complete.
Many believe that only the Beasts' corporeal forms had been destroyed during the War, and that their consciousness was locked away in another body. They also believed that the Blessed Lines, families that represented each Beast, knew about what really happened to the Beasts. However, no one was able to find out anything for the families were mysteriously murdered.
Not long after, the Hunters emerged. Like heroes, they repaired the broken land of Chysefin and renamed it Feitale Forest. Under the Hunters, the communities emerged.
Llyndai for the hunters, Tyvern for the healers, Nesryt for the traders.
I have long suspected that the Forest is built like one side of the battlefield. Should war ever break out between our Realm and another's, we would be prepared.
Hunters repaired relationships with other Realms, most notably Varsya. It is suspected that several priceless artifacts and items are lost in our Forest, it is also suspected that the Forest is based after Varsya's "Garden", the deadly Noctus Forest.
