Prologue:
Brookleap trudged through the forest, cold and scared. She had to run away from her clan or face an even more horrible penalty. She was a medicine cat and her apprentice had told on her, telling the clan that she was expecting kits with a Oakclan warrior. Afraid for her unborn kits and for her own life, she fled, going first into Oakclan. Sadly, her mate turned her away, not want her to ruin his clan, for he was becoming deputy. Brookleap ran off into the forest, now even more afraid, and head over the mountains. There she found a quiet river near a hollow and a clearing of trees. She gathered cats that lived around the area, mostly loners, but some exiled cats from the clans. She recognized two more medicine cats, cats who had fled for the same reason that she did. Bring them together, she founded her own group of cats, Brookclan.
Brookclan cats are great fishers and and swimmers. Fish is their main diet, along with a few water fowl. This gives them shiny, sleek fur that repels water.
