When I created a starter pet I created it with one mutation and when I tried to make it a warning came up and I accidentally clicked ok. Will the affect how the game works?

Maybe it was a warning that you still had two points to use on your pet? Other then loseing out on that it should not affect your gaming at all

Doesn't make a huge difference to the game, except maybe breeding. Starter pets can get 4 trait points, so up to 2 visible traits.
If you really want to change that, you could try messaging the admin Krinadon, and ask for his advice.
