How do mana stats work? Do caught pets or fabled pets have more mana? Is there any way to get a pet to have more base mana?

I've been playing how long, and i never thought about mana or knew there were different base mana stats?

The amount of mana a pet has corresponds to the number of stars it has.
in regular wild pets
1 = 60
2 = 80
3 = 100
4 = 120
(and 5 is uncatchable but would be 120 anyway because that's the max)

Fabled pets have +20 base mana on regular wilds for the equivalent number of stars (so cap put at 3=120.)

Exclusive pets could be considered to be three-star pets, by their mana.

I think the only way to alter mana is equipment.

Hope you don't mind me pinging you, i thought of a few more questions about mana.

Thank you for explaining. I never knew the difficulty was tied to mana!

So, looking at the above statement, what does that mean in breeding pets as opposed to catching them?
Is the amount of mana a pet has hereditary? Like 60 mana mom with 60 mana dad makes 60 mana child? Is there a way to breed a pet with the max mana using nonfabled pets, or pets that don't start with the max mana? Sorry if this confuses you, feel free to ignore me or tell me you don't know #_#

Beyond that mana, like all stats, will be somewhere between the parents' mana stats (60 mana parent + 60 mana parent = 60 mana child, 100 mana parent + 80 mana parent = child with mana somewhere between 80 and 100 mana), I'm not sure if there's any way to raise it via breeding?
HP can be raised via Prismatic Philters, but there's no Philter that affects Mana, and I don't believe nurturing does either.
