Ashley zipped up her backpack, slung it over her shoulder, and sprinted out the door, beaming with exitement.

Kat ran out of the door of her house. She loved spring in Littleroot Town. She had recently moved from Lavaridge with her mother, she had not heard from her dad in years.

When she got to Professor Birch's lab to choose her partner pokemon, he wasn't there. Bill, the Professor's assistant told her that Professor Birch was out doing fieldwork.
"Alright then. I'll just go find him!" she told Bill.

Kat ran to Route 101 where Bill had said Professor Birch was doing fieldwork.

Ashley skidded to a halt and knocked on the professor's door. "Hello?"

"The Professor's not here right now." Bill said. "He's doing Fieldwork on route 101. Say, another girl is heading down there. She left only a few minutes ago. Maybe you can catch up with her."

"Maybe if I run! Thank you!" She said, taking off again. She knew where 101 was, since she often visited to feed the Pidgey.

Kat suddenly stopped. Someone was following her. She turned around to find a girl with dirty-blonde hair running after her.

Ashley slowed to a halt beside the girl. "You... must be... the person... Bill mentioned..." she said, trying to catch her breath. "I'm Ashley.... what's your name?"

"My name is Kat. I'm going to find Professor Birch and get my first partner Pokemon. Bill said he was on Route 101." Kat said.

Sylver was walking along route 101, looking for the professor, she was supposed to get her first pokemon today, she knew enough about Hoenn to know exactly what pokemon she would choose when she met the professor
