Roleplay story and signup link is here: https://www.sylestia.com/forums/?thread=43583

This isn't as pretty or informative as the master signup post, and you'll need to read the link above to understand what's going on here.

Roles/Jobs of the Living:
- Guards are the protectors and warriors of the city.
- Scientists gain information and solve problems about ghosts, poltergeists, the disease, or magic in general.
- Explorers go out and explore the island and abandoned towns and bring back survivors and supplies.
- Citizens are ordinary sylesti with jobs such as medics or shopkeepers.
- Children attend school until they become adolescents, at which point they are expected to find a job.

A better description of the island and all its countries and capital cities is coming soon.

Imagine the island, shaped kinda like a big C.

Serkilk, located at the bottom tip of the island in the county of Irgkel.
Ork il Ilk, located at the top of the island or crest of the C in the country of Arknord.
And Irgork, the city of technology, located at the end of the top of the C in Nir il Nord.

Alala made her way through the woods, patrolling about five miles out from the settlement. Her nose sniffed the air, trying to pick up the acidic tang of ghosts or fluffy fur smell of living. Her wings, large and majestic, were folded, relaxed, by her body. She paused as a wind blew through the trees, rustling through the trees. She enjoyed the cool breeze in her fur, wondering what the day would being, despite the hopelessness that dampened the whole island. At that thought, she looked around cautiously, remembering the danger of the island.

Vilas was currently standing over her brother's grave, near a lake and under a large tree. The stone marking where the grave was has grown some moss near the bottom. With a sigh and a single tear, she turned and walked to the house, thinking if she should just go to the town and leave this place behind now that it's only her here. Unknown to her, her brother was back in way.

"Huh? What's going on?" Zerial asked himself, staring in disbelief at the house he left behind three years ago, and staring at the sister he left with it. She didn't see him, probably because he was sort of behind a small group of trees. Looking down at himself, he was surprised to see that he was a greyish-blue color. "Last time I remembered, I was brown, not blue..." He said quietly.

(Sorry forgot to ping. Am I supposed to, actually? I also have another question. Should I use a small image of the character above the part of post regarding them like you do? Or is that just a thing that you personally do?)

Alala froze when she picked up the acidic smell of a spirit. Was it a ghost or a poltergeist? The aroma of the two was indiscernible from the other. She opened her wings and took to the high branches of the trees, expertly gliding from branch to branch. If it was a poltergeist, she wanted the height advantage when it came to a fight. If it was a ghost, perhaps she could convince it to be a guard.

(Pinging isn't required, but if you're returning to the rp after more than a few hours of inactivity, a ping would be nice. As for the small image, I do that to differentiate between which characters are doing what when I'm using more than one. I find it also helps the reader visualize the scene and remember what the character looks like without having to go back to the signups. You can do it too, if you like, but it isn't required.)

(Alright, got it. I think I'll use the little images, too, for the sake of consistency and easy understanding.)

Curling herself up in a warm fluffy blanket, Vilas drifted to sleep, quite tired after her foraging trip in the woods. Her dreams consisted of memories of her brother, and the fun times they had together.

Zerial was thinking about how Vilas had been with him gone, and desperately wanted to talk to her. But how would she react to seeing some blue Luffox who looks nothing like her brother claiming to be her dead brother? At this point, he had wandered to the lake. "What's that over there? I don't remember that being here..." He asked himself aloud. What he saw was a gravestone. His gravestone. It took him a while to process what he was looking at, and when he did, he nearly cried at the thought of his baby sister burying the only person she had in the world.

Alala glided from tree to tree before eventually coming to a lake where trees ended and open sky began. The clouds were clearly reflected on the mirror-like surface, and at the edge she saw a small blue Luffox near a tombstone. She noted the lack of foot prints in the mud leading to the tombstone, and his ghostly appearance. Yup, definitely dead. But was he a ghost or a poltergeist? She barked, expecting him to look for the source of the noise while she was concealed in the trees. She'd be able to see his eyes, and all he'd see would be leaves.

Hearing a barking sound coming from up high somewhere, Zerial looked around in the trees above him, wondering why something in the trees would bark. "Um, hello?" He called out, not sure if he should expect an answer. He was still just trying to figure out if he was really back in the world, so at this point, he expected anything. 'Well, some people in the town do know I lived in the woods, but not exactly where... Most didn't know I had a sister, though. Maybe Vilas found someone in town that might come visit her?' he thought, trying to come up with a reasonable explanation for the bark.

Alala sighed in relief when the little Luffox looked up, revealing bright blue orbs. Clearly a ghost. She decided to let him look around a little, wondering if he'd spot her. He didn't, and the Lupora allowed herself some small amount of pride for having hidden herself so well before pondering how she'd reveal herself. First impressions counted, after all. Should she burst majestically from the leaves, and glide over the mirror lake? Or should she seem commanding and powerful by appearing from behind him and approaching on foot? She decided on the former, leaping from the trees to soar over the lake, the tips of her wings touching the surface of the water, before landing in the mud on the lakeside near the Luffox and the grave.

"Hello, ghost," she said simply, looking over at him.
