The Doctor stood by the TARDIS console deep in thought. Now in his Eighth incarnation, he felt lonely, his companions had come and gone, but he missed Charley and C'rizz the most.
"Best I move on." he said to himself. He pulled a lever on the TARDIS console, and piloted the TARDIS to 21st Century Earth, on of his most favourite destinations in the universe.

Jade walked around the town and she sighed. Nothing was like good old home but yet something was up. Some people were acting very strange.

A dull thud from the TARDIS signaled that it had landed. The Doctor peered out of the TARDIS doors, checking if he had reached his intended destination.
"Definitely Earth, but something doesn't seem...right." he said. He stepped out of the TARDIS and closed the doors behind him and locked them.
"Is it me, or are people acting more stranger than usual? Never mind, I guess this is just another normal day on Earth. Humans are odd creatures indeed." he sighed.

Jade headed towards her home with the groceries she had bought

The Doctor strolled around the city looking at the sights. A young girl bumped into him, and he fell over.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going." he said, helping her to pick up the groceries.

"It's okay." Jade said. "It happens honestly I shouldn't have been so lost in my own thoughts." She gathered up her groceries.

"It's my fault. I wasn't looking were I was going. I'm the Doctor. Have you seen anyone acting... Strangely?" he asked.
Suddenly, a woman, who looked no younger than twenty, with long black hair, and dark black eyes leaped from atop a building.
"Doctor." she hissed, a smirk spread across her lips. "Long time no see." She pulled out a dark, alien blade and rushed towards him.
"Now would be a good time to run!" the Doctor said, grabbing Jade's hand

Jade dropped her stuff and ran

The Doctor pulled the TARDIS key out of his coat pocket, and put it in the lock. The door clicked, and the Doctor ran inside. The TARDIs interior was vast and wooden. A bookshelf held many leather tomes, a chair stood beside it. The TARDIS console was large and hexagonal. Many brass plated levers, switches, and other mechanisms covered it. The Doctor went over to the console and flicked a few switches, pressed buttons, and pulled a lever or two. The time rotor started to rise and fall, signalling that the TARDIS was in flight.
"So," he said, his back still facing her, "what's your name?"

"Name is Jade and should I be concerned?" Jade asked. "Because I never thought a stranger would be taking me away from some monster
