Douglas looked down at his feet and drooped his head slowly as he walked down the alley, gazing at the dark sky.
His black eyes were dull as he sighed. He put his hands in his pockets and wiped his eyes before gazing down the street.
He smiled weakly at the thought of color. What was color, anyways? Was it flavor? What was it? He remembered the slight quiver of color in that man's hair and suddenly gasped. He remembered. Color was beautiful, it brought life to everything.
Yet he couldn't describe it.
He banged his head onto a lamppost and sighed, staring at the darkening day. He sniffed himself and looked at his hands, sooty and black. Where was his mother, where was his father? Not dead. The government was unusually strict.
His words echoed into the darkness, "But..... why... hunt... the colored....?"

Mandy walked down the streets of town a Hood Over her head that barely hid her ruby red hair and she tried to keep her face down and avoid eye contact. Her mind was cluttered with thoughts of their mission and the orders the organization had given her and Zen, she was so deep in thought she ran Directly into a light post. She stumbled back holding her forehead And mumbling under her breath.

Douglas fell to the floor and his glasses fell off, revealing a very dark green sort of color. It was black, but not exactly not green either.
He hissed sharply. "MADAM, watch where you're going!"
He detected the red hair and held his heart, gasping. "Oh dear... bad memories... excuse me, m'am..."
He ran into an alleyway, clutching himself.
Blood dripped out of his mouth, black blood. He stared into the pool as an image started to take place of it.
Her green scarf and her blue eyes.
She laughed at Douglas and smiled weakly. "My son.... where is the liveliness in you?"
His father stood over the child. "Are you sure he has no color in him?"
"Yes-"
"That cannot be."
His mother gulped, her blue eyes wavering. "But... he is our child, isn't he? We need to love him however he needs it."
His father pushed up his coat. He smiled and tickled Douglas, who laughed joyously. "But he still has happiness in him."
"Aye, that is what matters-"
A loud clang was heard.
"Oh no- Fern has sent trackers after us."
They took off, running. Douglas cried, the wails echoing.
Finally, the searchers got enough.
They shot a net at his father, whose green scar shone brightly.
It touched his arm.
Douglas cried even louder as his mother set him down and ran to his father.
"Your arm, Leonard!"
"I know."
The searchlights bobbed closer and his mother cried.
Suddenly an appearance of a woman startled them in the mist.
She spoke in a silky voice, "Capture them."
They responded in a drone, "Yes, Lady Fern."
His mother gasped and yelped as they came closer. She dragged Leonard out.
Leonard cryed out as he saw Douglas being captured.
"Your son!"
She gasped as they took him by the leg and put him in a net.
"Bye, Douglas, my son. Good luck out there..." her voice faded into the darkness.
Her last words echoed into his mind. Yeah, he had been detained and pressured for secrets and then treated very luxurious, that was how he got glasses. But really, he remained kind of thin, underfed and mistreated.

Douglas gulped down, trying to control the emotions.
He actually bit himself and winced, blood gushing down his skin.
He ran out and his glasses slid off again, revealing very black eyes, but somehow green.

As she watched the boy curiously waiting For Zen she noticed his eyes they were different somehow not bright only a glimmer but it was enough to make her walk across the street to stop him " Hey..." she said her voice soft and a little muffled " I just want to apologize for running into you back there... I should have been more careful"

He clenched his teeth and gulped.
"H-hi....." his voice drifted off to the pub, where his adoptive nanny was drunk.
He sighed.
'Y-yeah... w-what about m-me, ain-ain't I ju-just one of those?" he pointed to the townsfolk.

Her crystal blue eyes glimmered with a bit of sadness as she glanced at the townsfolk " We are all made of what we believe in, from the looks of it... you believe in something, question is do you know what, and are you willing to sacrifice what's left to protect that belief" She said looking down at her feet and covering her hair as a patrol car passed quickly with it sirens blaring.

Lilac yawned, stretching her body. She jumped from roof to roof, nosing various containers to see if they had food in them. Her ears twitched in anger at the fact that none of them did. She had been almost caught by the Government when her previous owner discovered her eyesight. The owner had been given the luxury of food and a better house for such information, and he already cleaned her bowl of food? She turned her head away and jumped down a few houses until she was on the ground. Seeing townsfolk, she shut her eyes until they were just slits. She could barely see like this and almost walked into a pole.

"Nope."
he turned around, walking into the city.
"I'm nothing."
