Light drifted down through the cracks in the ancient temples walls and ceiling, lighting the place just enough to be able to see by. The temple had been over taken but bitter weeds and blue flowers along with many of vines that crawled up the walls as if they too wished to escape. Soft breathing filled the room for everyone in it was sleeping peacefully either by choice or by chance. Slowly the human boy woke placing a tiny hand on his forhead as he did so. "Ow my head..." The boy groaned as he opened his eyes only to squint again in the blinding like. Slowly he became accustomed to the blinding light enough so that he could look about with the aid of hand which shielded his eyes. What was this place? It wasn't his home village, so where was it? Last he remembered he was in the field playing with the others as they ran from him. And there was that case that he bent down to touch then all went black. How had he gotten here then? Slowly he sat up a hand still on the sore part of his head. In the middle of the room, the place with the most light, stood what could only have once been well but had been filled in with rocks to secure a very heavy chain that was placed in it. But what was the chain holding back? The boy's gaze followed the chain until it came to the thing at the end. Long fur covered the creature in its greyish hue with splotches of black every now and again. It had a more or less dog like face with tall cat ears and small horns adorning its head. A solid metal chain weighted down its neck from where it was chained to the ground, most likely to keep it where it was. Cat like paws enabled its movement in the front while bird talons aided in the back, and a long tail provided balance for the creature. The boy gasped at the sight, only to alert the creature that he was indeed there. A deep growl erupted from its throat as its pupil less eyes turned a shade of greenish red, it's ears back in anger. Skipper held his breath until the animal had lowered its head again though it's eyes still bore into his soul. Why did it not attack? Was it unable to? The boys gaze again fell onto the creatures body, outlining its features. There on its left shoulder the closest to him was a large spear embedded in the animals soft flesh. Crimson blood stained it's grey fur, but it had long since dried on it. It was hurt, it needed help. Against his fears the boy stood only now finding the knotted pattern that cascaded down his arms to his wrists. What?! When had he gotten those? Another growl broke his thoughts, the animal having sensed his movement. The same colorful eyes watched him as he krept closer to it. "Easy now, it's okay..." Skipper said stretching out a hand to the creature. The thing watched as the boy laid a hand on the spear pulling it with all his might. The creature winced some then screamed as the boy pulled the out. In a panic of legs and fur the animal threw the boy off of it as it withered in pain. Skipper hit the wall of the room and slid down dazed. Blood covered his hands from the spear, though it was nothing compared to the pain he felt in his back. After a moment he stood again approaching the animal this time slower hands out in front of him. The thing tried to spend up but fell, whimpering in pain. The boy waited for it to calm before moving closer. Now he could see the arrows that covered the things back and the cuts on its tail and back side. What had happened to the poor thing? Carefully, with watchful eyes staring him down the whole time he began to pull the arrows from his back. Each one clanked to the cold stone floor as they were dropped by the boy into the grassy floor below. With each that was pulled free the creature seemed to grow calmer before it finally fell asleep entirely. Its soft purrs filled the room as it slept, though so did the smell of blood. With a careful hand the boy covered the wounds getting the bleeding to stop. "Poor thing..." He sighed looking at the chain on its neck. He needed to get that off...but not yet. What if this monster wanted to kill him. With a yawn he sank to the ground back to the animal's shoulder. Maybe just a quick nap.

Light slowly faded around shadow. It looked like the night was ruling over the world. Shadow growled and roared. Shadow was blinded in one eye but it didn't matter to him. All that mattered was avoiding humans. He had ran for all his life no matter who tried to get close to him he fled. Nothing mattered that was human made to him. Shadow ran since he was a hatchling and he never knew the caring touch of a mother. All he knew was cold hard winters and the starving and craving for food. But now he couldn't do anything against the chain that held him to the wall for he didn't have the strength to fight. All he knew was he was chained and probably in a temple.

Angela got up from her bed to find the sky outside her room dark. "Oh great!" Angela rushed out of her room in her pajamas. She rushed outside of her house heading towards the temple. It was as dark as midnight. She struggled to see but then she bumped into something. Shadow glared down where he felt something run into him. Angela looked up into Shadow's red eyes. Then she saw one of his eyes had a clear film over it. "Oh you poor thing." Angela said. She tried to comfort him when he knocked her back with his claw.

When next the boy awoke it was due the the fact that the creature with it's glowing green eyes and massive furry tail had picked him up and moved him away. Now exposed to the chills of the harsh night's air he shivered waking himself up as he did. The creature was still watching him with its large eyes glowing the whole while, at least they gave off a bit of light as its gaze sliced through the night as if it were a stick of butter that had been left out in the summer. Skipper winced as he slowly climbed up onto his feet, there now being a rather tender spot in the middle of his back from having been thrown earlier. Raising it's head the creature's eyes changed from a green to the same redish color they had before when he had gotten close. It must have something to do with it either being angry or it simply being even more watchful, like a warning in a way. red was usually a very dangerous color stating 'stay back! Don't make me have to hurt you!', perhaps that was what this meant? The boy stumbled forward in the dark as the moon was reviled out from behind the clouds in which it was hidden, giving him the light he needed to be able to see the path ahead. The pale light reflected off the animal's fur, making it seem all the more ghost like. It seemed more lively now, though it was still weak too weak to even try to get to it's feet. Thinking the boy found himself very perplexed by this behavior. He was no scientist, nor had he even been taught by the priests of the village so this proved a very challenging problem. What did he do when he was weak? He usually rested, but this animal had been sleeping from the first time he saw it so that couldn't be it. Then what? Well he sometimes got weak when he had gone a day or two without food, maybe the animal was just hungry? But what did it eat? Well there were plants all around and it had not eaten that so that was not the answer. Maybe meat? Where would he find any of that? On second thought he too had grown to be quiet hungry. There had to be something to eat around there somewhere! Gazing around the light of the moon seemed to hit a barrel just enough for it to catch the boy's attention. Perfect! Maybe it has some food in it. He walked over to it and picked it up. It was quiet heavy really, enough that he had to work to get ti picked up. The animal perked up upon seeing the barrel thought the boy didn't carry it close enough for it to grab it. Now he had to try and open it....

Shadow pushed the girl away with his claw. He tried to get up but fell back down. He roared in anger. Why was this human spawn here? And why was it so friendly to him? Shadow tried to get free from the chain but only managed to make it dig deeper into his soft scales around his neck. Shadow put his head down. How did I get myself into this situation? Shadow thought. oh well now how am I going to get free?

Angela looked at the dragon before her. "Are you hurt Mr. Dragon?" Angela asked kindly. "Oh please don't struggled......... the chains are made to kill monsters and you are struggling so much..... It must hurt so badly........" Angela got out of her bag she had grabbed before she left her house a slab of meat. "I always carry meat around in case a monster came along." Angela sat down. "I bet you're very hungry aren't you?" The dragon looked at her. She placed down the meat and backed up.

A medium-sized dog was lying down in a lighter room in the temple, a single torch lighting one of the walls, with a forest-like area above the temple walls. She seemed very out of place, with a mysterious hybrid of animals and a dragon. But she was a dog. Or a wolf, maybe. She winced as she rolled onto her left side, where her wounded haunches scraped the ground. She rolled back over and began to groom her chest area, hoping to soon fall asleep.

Zora awakes in the middle of the woods, with a kink in her neck. What a suuper place to fall a-ow! She stroked her neck with her left hand, placing her right on her thighs. "What the-?" There's a mark on her right wrist. It looks like 3 dragon heads. Who put this on me?! She thought angrily. The young girl stood up and began to walk blindly in the woods. She almost fell into a hole, with a torch light lighting one of the walls.

The battle opened with a sharp crack as the rocks sharp edge smashed into the wood of its lid for what seemed to be the hundredth time. "Finally!" Skipper panted tossing the heavy rock to the side before he dug a small hand into it. The smell of salt made its way to his nose as he leaned over the barrel, his arm up inside it up to the elbow. "Well would you look what the cat drug up!" The boy exclaimed pulling the cured dried meat strip from the barrel. "What a find!" With that he sat and chewed down on the meat chewing each peace throughly before swallowing them. It was so nice to be able to finally get something in his stomach, the pain subsiding for this once. The meat was so tender, so satisfying. The boy could stopped chewing only when the light of the creature's green eyes drew closer to him. That was right! The animal was hungry as well! Why did he get to eat and it not? Slowly he looked over to find the animal had stretched its head over towards him ears attentive and listening. "Where are my manners..." The boy smiled standing. The anima watched moving its head along the ground. It was a rather large animal, so the rest of the barrel was rightfully its. The boy attempted to pick the container back up again only to drop it sending it rolling towards the animal. With lightning like reflexes the barrel was snatched up and hastily chewed. Very few of its splinters free to the ground as the animal looked for more. "Hungry aren't you?" Skipper laughed looking about. The animal followed him as he moved lighting the path with its eyes. There along the ground was another barrel, half buried in a bit of ruble. "Here we are!" Carefully the boy pulled the barrel free and carried it to the animal. Again he rolled it to them and again it was snatched up. With a sort of purr the animal watched the boy its eyes a green again. "Like that do you?" Skipper smiled crossing his thin arms over his chest. Again his attention was brought to the chain around the animals neck. Maybe if it let him touch it, he would be able to let it go. "Easy now..." He said as he drew closer hand out to the animal to let it sniff him, which surprisingly worked. A soft velvet like muzzle touched his hand as the animal thanked him, letting him rub its soft fur with his tiny hands. Up close the thing was so much bigger than him, at least tall enough to take ten of him to reach its head and it was laying down! And it fur was so soft that he could use it as a cloud. He remembered where he had heard of such tales of animals taller than mountains, with fur that no fabric could compete with. They were the tales of the man eaters that his people called myths, this one being the one they called Oni. "Oni...such a lovely creature." Skipper smiled rubbing his face on the animal's now was time to free it, to remove its bindings and set it free again. It's fur helped him pull himself up onto its back as he climbed up to its neck, towards the metal collar that held it in this place. A large lever pulled down nicely to release the beast, the collar clanking to the ground as it fell. Oni sniffed the collar before pulling itself to its feet and shaking. The boy cried out as he fell off hitting the ground and falling into unconsciousness.

Chiva turned and looked up, to see a human girl staring down at the room she was trapped in. The dog gave a few barks, trying to tell the human to help her.

Zora was staring at the torch, but then heard loud barking. Without thinking, she jumped into the hole and landed on a soft patch of grass and flowers. That didn't stop her from falling unconscious, though. Chiva kept barking at her, but realized that she would be out of commission for a little while. The dog was eyeing her backpack, but decided to stay where she was.

Angela sat down beside shadow. "Everyone else is out so I have to wait till they get back." Angela said. "I hope they get back soon though."

Shadow snorted at the girl. How could she be so blind? He was a dragon! Dragons eat humans. At least he didn't he prefered wild meat not the tainted Human scum.

Again the boy woke though now it was to the warm embrace of the animals fur as it held him close to its furry side. There was still a bitter soreness in his back as he sat up causing the creature to look down at him with its deep green, pupiless eyes. At least his stomach wasn't growling now, that was a good thought, but now he had to worry about not only feeding himself but also the hungry animal which seemed to be a bigger problem seeing that it was his life in the line if the animal found the food was not enough for it. This thought made him shutter which startled Oni some making its raise its head in a backwards motion and twist its ears forward. Skipper could do nothing but laugh at its expression. Sure it was unable to use words but the look on its face and the way that it moved was enough to tell one what it was thinking. Standing the boy dusted off his pants taking a moment to look at the runes on his arms, they still confused him so. How had he gotten them? Oni stood now, shaking the dead plant leaves from its long fur and the scales in its legs. It was now a good ten feet taller than the small boy, and quite a bit longer including the tail that it used to wrap around the boy when he had been asleep. Now though it loomed over him, its head cast downward as it directed its gaze towards him. It seemed so cramped in the room now, like there was no space left with the monster filling it. They needed to find a way out of this place. "Come on Oni, let's get out to some fresh air." The boy smiled as he walked down the corridor towards what could only be a courtyard. "Hello?!" The boy called as loud as he could placing both small hands over his mouth. It was no use, his voice was not strong enough to fill the room. But Oni's was. The beast roared rattling the building and causing some rocks to fall around them. It sounded like they were calling to someone, or thing. That's all they needed, was something else to try and eat the small human child.

Angela looked outside of the temple. "Is anyone here?" Angela called out. "Please anyone?" She then fell from the ground shaking.

Shadow laughed at the puny girl when she fell down. He roared.
